Sorry to ask...but do you have a life outside of bashing surf on this board? Ok..ok...surf is not the greatest trader in the world and like everyone else he has his flaws. But can you just tone down your attacks and make some contribution to the forum other than the constant bashing? Sheeesh.
Flaws? Sure, we all have them. But it is the combination of hubris and vacuity that I find irresistible. Thank you for asking. Are you suggesting my recent and politely worded request is unreasonable to ask of someone posting an online trading journal? Since he is already posting the size and timing of his trades, which he has chosen to do, do you not think it is reasonable for him to keep a running balance to provide proper context to his overall trading? In a TRADING JOURNAL? Especially since he condescends to anyone who doesn't fully agree with his world view. After a time, would a running balance not provide a one-stop litmus test, either validating his hubris or, perhaps, not?
Maintaining shorts going into open. Not sure what to expect today, may be a strange one. Be ready Surf
It's his trading journal. He can post whatever he wants. On a different note, you could try to lead by example and start your own journal by posting your trades and running balance. Now, how about that?
This thread reminds me of a high school locker room after a loosing football game and the coach thinks beating a couple teams by 40 points in a season is outstanding, even if you lose the rest of the games.
I never put myself out there nor forced anyone else to do so. Marketsurfer chose to do so. Was it for critical assessment or merely adulation? If it was for critical assessment, then the only way to reach a reasonable conclusion is to assess his cumulatrive performance over time. A running P/L is only one step in that direction, but nevertheless a useful one, and one readily available and not requiring further calculation. You certainly have not admonished Rodney King, who gushes in surf's direction with regularity. So am I to conclude that we are here principally to cheer surf as his sycophants? And, as it happens, I do think I added a bit of value earlier in this thread. But value can be very subjective, eh?
The problem with this analogy is that if Surf loses 10 trades with a loss of 1 point, and wins one with 40 points, well, you can count.
to others: Once you realize that this thread is pure entertainment, and Surf is an internet millionaire that likes to write and gather attention with his recreational trading addiction, then all suffering starts to subside. It was painful watching before, now it is pure joy.
