Well, not exactly. The trades were very uneven with random results and after 5 months the P/L was around breakeven. Profits started to add up only in the last few weeks when he nailed the initial drop from the high.

As far as posted trades go, it is not a blown up (he is still in the green) just a bunch of consecutive losses with full position.

    ----------------------------------------------

I did a quick check for commissions. I only went back to the 7/27 position, since then he traded these units: 5, 1, 1, 1.6, 6.6, 6, 6, 6, 6. That is about 39 units, so the commission would be 25 x 39, just under 1 grand.

So my guess about total commissions being under 2 K for the whole Journal sounds realistic...

That is probably a good guess. He posted a stop at 1305 and then the market gapped up and opened at 1306 and going higher he later said the trade was closed at 1305, mentioning:

  3. She might...but then she is also very impressed with Baron. He's been pumpin' and is cut like a knife! And he has a real source of income - ET! Surfy probably just lost his, hers and the "we" money he may or may not have had...

Hate to say it, but maybe soon there will be yet another new Surf Report and Wife, Part 3! :D

Juz messin' with ya Surf. Cummon back! :)

I knew I shouldn't do accounting that early in the mornin'....

Slight correction, those 6s should have been 5s.... (since 30 cars is 5 units) That makes the commissions even cheaper: 25 x 34 = 850$

    Sorry for the Hollywood accounting....

Talking about early, since Surf was up at 3 am to post and delete trades, that actually indicates that some of this might be real money. I don't suppose one would stay up that late/early for papertrades.... Unless of course he is really on vacation in a different timezone....

Yes, if the both of you can refrain from the mano a mano silliness I see elsewhere on ET. But this is Surf's journal, not a repository for everyone else's trades, so those who would like to regularly post trades best that you start your own journal. And seriously folks, you don't have to like each other but let's pretend we're adults and show a little class by keeping it courteous and civil. Thanks.

  10. Ok, thanks for the kind notes and support. I am back from Vacation and ready to start up the journal. Our analysis had been right on, although the actual execution of trades has lacked--- I need to fine tune the entries and exits which is my challenge right now.

The price driver system paints with a broad brush-- drilling down into the actual execution will take practice and work on my end. Although I was very fortunate with s huge huge win obviously large losses can and do occur despite correct analysis.

Analysis and trading are 2 very different endeavors.

We should have out first directional call next week--- and an attempt to make it pay be an actual before the fact trade entry.

    Have a great weekend!
