    Hey Guys,

If you want to discuss News Corp (NWS, NWSA) and the impact on the stock/company there's no problem. But I want to keep all political discussions in the P&R Forum where they belong. As you've probably noticed things tend to HEAT UP when politics enters the conversation (for some strange reason...)

    Thanks.

  4. No problem--- I'm apolitical myself thus dont understand the passion. I agree with no political chatter on the surf report

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Despite the late day pop off the lows, we are remaining short into Monday with solid profits in the sept ES.

The bearish sentiment is just getting started and may hit a fevered pitch next week

  6. LOL ! Gotta love EPrado. Thanks for the laugh. EPrado is always a gentleman and does support smurf, yet you can always count on him to tell it like it is when he smells BS.

It won't matter if the S&P rises those 40 handles. Smurf's response will be, "we are continuing holding shorts and are holding small profits in ES." Smurf must be a great trader. He, sorry "we" always has a profit no matter how much ES goes against him.

Smurf please take off the orange afro and red nose when you post!

Hey EPrado-- despite horrid recent luck with the ponies, i'm trying blind luck over HDG tomorrow , maybe exacta will pay $8-$9. I could use a winner. Hence I always read the smurf report.

  7. Smurf serious question--at what level does the S&P need to rise to for you to be stopped out and acknowledge a losing trade?

And as far as bearish sentiment goes smurf, if bearish sentiment hits a "fever pitch", which I assume to mean a higher level, that is BULLISH for the market. Incredible that smurf aka "mr. kinda famous in the business" doesn't know this simple fact.

Surf's a good guy in my book. But..I gotta call him out when he starts his nonsense. His trashing of other strategies with nothing to back it is weak. If one is going to trash other strategies (which I don't see the benefit....to me it seems like a losing trader trying to bring everyone else down) then at least have your own strategy that has proven results. Unfortunately for Surf, his calls/trades have not warranted him to go around beating his chest in victory.

According to him the mkt is always about to go into a death spiral. Has been that way with him for a while. His reasoning (this time the debt ceiling) might be "fundamentally" correct, but markets don't always care about fundamentals. In fact...they rarely do anymore. That thinking worked a hell of a lot better in the 90's.

Hey, I hope the SP goes to 1200 for him next week. More volatility the better. But the news coming out gets worse and worse, but the mkt will not budge. To me this is not a great set up for the shorts. If they have an agreement over the weekend, he will be covering his position at 1350 on Monday morning. The risk reward on this trade seems pretty bad.

Surf's other problem is he is going for gigantic home runs in these trades. With the Vix around 18-20 range you can't go for the 60-80 handle winners in the SP. You will not get them. He keeps going for the kill, and giving way too much back. I believe he was short around 1322...rode it down to 1302 or so.....now is back at 1315. That's way too much of a bounce back. He is trading like it's fall of 2008 again. A good trader HAS to adjust to current volatility/conditions. I agree with his thinking of riding a winner.....but he has to be realistic about how far that wave is gonna go.

As far as the horses. I actually made some very good money Belmont Day. About time.....funny thing it wasn't in the big stake races...was in the last two claiming races after The Belmont. Gonna wait until Saratoga starts to jump back in.

I like Blind Luck a lot.Her connections are like the old time connections who ran their superstars all over the country. Her owners are one of a few left in the game who campaign a horse like this. I would be shocked if that exacta pays anything north of 6 dollars. They are the only two horses who have a shot of running 1-2.

I wonder if Surf still believes in the old odd lot theory people would talk about in the 90's.

Surf is morphing into one of these slimeball salesman right in front of our own eyes.

It's becoming painfully obvious that when Surf trashes an idea, group of people,,,,etc,,,,he morphes into that person or utilizes a strategy very similar to the one he trashes.

His fixed system blabbering takes the cake. He apparently is ripping on a strategy that has a solid game plan with parameters that are well defined and risk mgmt rules that are strongly in place. Basically he is taking the other side of what it takes to be successful.

Don;t even get me started on his In Trade predictions for his newest trade,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
