Probably for the same reason it wasn't done during the Obama Presidency when the Democrats controlled all three branches.

    Cuddles and LS1Z28 like this.
  4. This is a good point but it's water under the bridge. The obvious answer is the republican donor class, the Kochs et al, want open borders, and what they wanted was a lot more important to the republican cucks in congress, eg Paul Ryan, McConnell, than what the guy who had just won the presidency for them wanted. They looked at Trump more like some sort of third party candidate who somehow won and now their job is to minimize his influence and the damage he causes to their interests.

The establishment republicans remind me of the dinosaurs, at one time very powerful but unable to respond quickly enough to a drastic change in the climate and seemingly unaware that their time is over.

Bush, Obama, & Trump have all failed now to pass comprehensive immigration reform when they controlled Congress. Immigration reform is a polarizing subject, even within parties. I doubt we'll see a bill pass without bipartisan support unless one party gains a significant majority in both the House & Senate.

Watch the Supreme Court. They've agreed to hear the DACA case during their next term, and a decision is expected to come early next year. If they allow Trump to undo DACA, they'll give him the leverage he needs to force some change.

It looks like they narrowed down the pool of contractors to bid on the border wall construction back in May. You won't see anything significant happen until the bid process has occurred and the contracts have been awarded.

According to this article, they're expected to add 63 miles of new wall over the next 6 months. I would assume they're pretty far in the design process given this time frame.

Same piss poor government, too. The model is flawed and produces flawed representatives.
