  1. Not only for economic reasons, America could have a political uprising against Odumbo and his brand of dictatorship/Communism, you know.

Is it because there's a lack of engineers, or that your company is not willing to offer a descent pay/benefit package/paid move/signing bonus?

The reason I'm asking is it seems comments from engineers deals with pay/benefit packages etc. Most companies would rather have higher immigration in those fields, than pay up.

Am I way off base here, or is the truth somewhere in the middle?

  3. There has long been talk that for the past 30 years US government has instituted a type of education policy of dumbing down the majority.

So you would have less engineers and more Drones, who would only serve to vote the way television tells them to.

The theory has been that government doesn't want population that knows how to think, hence the current public education program.

  4. Excellent point. People harp on the inability of college grads to find jobs as if the economy is just that bad, but no one talks about the fact that a lot of these grads have degrees in useless fields. History majors, black studies, women studies, etc. They took what they believed to be the easy route and they're paying for it.

Well, he is a leftist and that makes him an idiot. How's that? :D

If you think his premise is a reasoned analysis of the real problem, then God help you.

Why doesn't he just argue for rent/price controls? It would have the same intended effect.

  6. Granted we all agree that minimum wage is not the only issue facing America. More like 1 out of 1000.

But what do you think about the point he makes that by the time CEOs start making 1000 x regular wage, up from 400-500 x at present time.

That we would have no longer middle class, and very large number of hateful poor who would be looking for a target, regardless of if they understand what's going on or not.

There actually is a serious problem in this country and it's the fact that we have to keep importing labor. And I don't mean from Mexico. We have some so many jobs that require "math" and "analytical" skills and very few people to fill them. If you think about it, the middle class 50 years ago, who was it? It was the factory worker. It was the guy at the plant. It was a guy with a high school education with little to no skill. Well today, to be middle class you better know calculus. And if you don't know how to crunch data, you better be able to analyze it. The bar is pretty high now and it's a natural evolution. Technology is replacing the no skill jobs. That same plant worker from 50 years ago would be working at Walmart today. And the scary thing is, 50 years from now, you better be even smarter. Too many kids today waste their time on facebook and social media. And to think they could be reading books. They could be learning.

But opportunity? Oh Jesus there is plenty of it. Now more then ever. But it's pay to play. You have to step up and be able to do something. It reminds me a lot of ET. Ten years ago you could come on ET and draw squiggly lines on a chart and make a killing with an 8th grade education. Today you better have kick ass quantitative skills. And it shows. This website is full of those guys with absolutely no skills to speak of trying to trade and can't. The world evolves. It's always moving forward. You can't sit still or you fall behind. Most people on ET don't understand that.

  8. 1. I don't care what the CEO makes. It's up to the company's board... and it's only 1 guy. Sure, lots of them are waaayyy overpaid. But adjusting the CEO's pay isn't going to solve any problems. (I think a lot of people and believe CEO's are not worth nearly what they are paid.)

    2. Yes, we have a large number of hateful poor. Don't know what we are likely to do about it. American GOVERNMENT has done much to foster an ever larger population of poor and to harm the middle class... so have private companies outsourcing well-paying jobs for cheap labor. There are consequences to both!

We've already got too many unskilled, low wage earning citizens in the US... too many unemployed also. Yet Odumbo welcomes uneducated, unskilled immigrants across our borders. Is THAT helping the inequality situation??

  9. Honestly I think your opinions have no value what so ever.

You are a FED shill and lover, you have no problem with Private Central Bank printing dollars and lending to US government in exponential debt scheme that is now causing the markets to be completely artificial.

So yeah, I am skipping over your posts on issue of economy and what to do.

  10. 1. I don't care what the CEO makes.... or what his "multiple salary vs. the lowliest emplyee" is. America is (was?) a capitalist economy... a MERITOCRACY!... not damned Socialism/Marxism! The CEO's compesation is up to the company's board... and it's only 1 guy. Sure, lots of them are waaayyy overpaid. But adjusting the CEO's pay isn't going to solve any problems.

After WWII and up until maybe 20 years ago, America was in the cat bird seat of the world economies... and we PISSED IT ALL AWAY for greedy political objectives and cheap goods at Wal-Mart.

    :(
