I go through quite a bit of effort to avoid that thought process. I immediately delete the symbol off my short list when I close a position to avoid looking back....I think that might also be why I've done better with spreads than just long options. I've argued that shorting a .01 option can make sense even with a .50 per contract commission. Basically I sold my greed and irrationality for nothing...stickin' it to the market makers!
Market looks almost identical to yesterday right now lol, once again im up cause i had a nap after work, but here is what set it all off for me yesterday. FOMC minutes happened, and market couldnt break higher, couldnt break higher, then started grinding down, and belo 2426 was my number from yesterday, i was basing support on that level from like 11:00 in the morning, so i didnt chase the spikes down, but once it got below that i knew it was lights out. Now today we have this, charts are almost identical, any break below 2408.5 and i think we are headed through 2400, probably shouldnt start this battle this early again though i got to be out tomorrow morning at like 10:30 too leave for a bachelor party too, but its awful tempting.
i sold just 1 at 2409.75, promised myself i wouldnt get into a big battle here,. but will add one or two below 2408.5 hard stop at 2411.25
Well, I'm ready for 2383...as long as it bounces and doesn't just pierce through. That's vodkantrading if ever I've seen it! Also, what's up with your times on the bottom of the screen??? And is the 7pm dip Japan's open?
LOL, you bet it is, whatever it either happens or it doesnt i promise im not going to start swinging anything, i lost like 50 bucks or will add below 2408.5. Damn wish you hadnt showed that with the times on the charts, im OCD now that i noticed it it looks really fucked up why wouldnt the times just be on a grid Going to have to write a sternly worded letter to IB about this one.
Well, you are kinda a suburb of...uh....Fargo, aren't you? And yeah, looks like your charts are on CDT...do you have an option in IB for CST? that will remove the DST correction.
BTW, something i should mention cause ive gotten alot of questions on "Reading the Tape" if you want to learn look at the ES right now while its in slow motion, or a stock trading pre-market, thats the best way you get a feel for it, you can just see more supply than demand in alot of instances, market tries to chew up the offer, but gets abosorbed goes down. thats what im seeing in very fast motion off the open, but it really is a slow motion tutorial to watch shit like the ES, or the premarket on a news stock, before algos get all over it, and make tape reading incredibly difficult.
LOL, im from a rare tribal village in the middle of nowhere called saskatoon, we have a special tribal ritual here called "Drinking Pilsner" but we only do that after we apologize for something, doesnt matter what, you got to say your sorry.
Damn man if thats how bad your drinking water is i feel bad for you, even the slack jawed yokels around here will admit pilsner tastes like horse piss...... They still drink it though..... Then they actually chase it down with horse piss.
