    Today was another one of those days when 15m worked like a charm.

    #1 synch- > CCC -> lod b/d (10:00 report)-> 15m rocket
    10:00 short 983.75
    12:14 cover 976.50 failure to traverse -> channel BO. Rocket was still on but took exit as we entered DU. All this time 5m MACD was entwined "away"
    +7.25

    #2 short rocket -> lod b/d. In fact failure to travese 10 m before, was already in CCC
    15:03 short 974.25
    15:11 cover 975.25 5m MACD x -> channel BO
    -1.00

    #3 FBO -> iceberg -> rocket -> 15m short channel BO (5m stochs entwined at 80)
    15:28 long 976.00
    15:58 sell 977.00 pt 3 -> channel BO
    +1.00

    Day +7.25

    Thanks so much. I will do the stuff you said on March. It is about a megabite now. I am going to bold and color and point the condense version I, then realy squash it into version II.

    Doing this keeps the chron alive for newbies coming in.

    For the thread people it will really get good. They can use the version II for refreshing in a context. I will spin all the pieces into very well defined clusters. One will be an alphanumeric glossary. Another will be a contiguous semantic differential of all the sequences so their adjacent relationships will be clear.

    Finally the butcher paper thing that is getting topigraphical, will have it's horizontal dimensions painted in. We have the vertical now. The lines going back to beginnings from endings are kept loose for now. When I do the horizontal paint up, they shorten and everything gets a total stress relieving. Here we find out what seamless really means.

    When I do the spin out and annotate it; people will finally get relief from my writing style. Version II alludes to the hang up (look for the bold): I write too densely because I must sacrifice using the real length required in order to keep stuff alive and macro connected. At the end of the spin out I let the density go down to normal because I am doing small pieces that I can address deeply for the person who is able to get there.

    All of this is noted here because it will let you see that I must do what you say to save personal effort.

    further along;

    I have the computer software for this laid out on paper and I have used it manually for about five years. That was a good warm up for this.

    I will nail down March, April, May, June, and July Version I and offset Version ll right behind it. By end of April work, I will have the core glossary to spin and the core sequences to spin (I will inject all of mine here for fun too).

    The butcher paper sequences on the time levels is started and then painting in the horizontal dimension will get to something new. I am a GIS afficianado. I use it to optimize marketing strategies (The yield is running 7x the nearest competitive approaches). I guess what we are headed for is mapping money making. The requirement to invoke either of two trading strategies (continuation or change) is obvious when a person is travelling such a landscape. When you see the boundary between the two and you travel along, you see that you are approaching the "shift"; it just relaxes everything so much. Having "failure" as islands gives the same intellectual and emotional effect.

    The market answered my questions today. Since a double top is forming on the daily (IT), the even harmonics (traverse left -> right) are dominant in DURATION and are (more or less) HORIZONTAL forming a staircase pattern.

  4. You are now at a strong consciousness level regarding how the fractals work across a wide reange of values. This is my opinion.

    Here is how I personally see the levels working. When I spent a real lot of time on the "scoring" of the price curve, it was a contenscious exprience.

    The P, V relationship does yield a frequency ratio where volume changes periodically twice as fast as price.

    Moving the the rythm of price, the odd or even (as you point out for now) harmonics prevail.

    To get to understand and have a third direct variable in addition to price, and volume, required me to not go afield from basic fundamental aspects of markets. Struggle, struggle.

    The accumulation (Advance)/ distribution (Decline) aspect of he market is a forceful and important consideration.

    It does change more frequently than the volume and it is anchored to the peak and trough as well. When I saw that the maximum money velocity (where it peaked) of the periodic price cycle was at a reversal point of the A/D, then the pure symmetry of the scoring math let me know I had found the third lesser direct market variable.

    I could divide the cycle into 8 segments. P, V relation gave me 4. The A/D frequency allows for the double.

    The simple story of how people take actions in the market is there to see. Subordinate groups do their things too. I must say itt is difficult for a person to get to seamless trading, meaning hanging in there on trends from beginning to end and then in consolidation, slaloming along. Subgroups which do less well, habitually do their "less well" things consistently.

    This is the source of harmonics in price. P cycle and twice the frequncy for volume influence the subgroups habits. The A/D influence is higher in frequency and represents subgroups of greater uncertainty of orientation.

    All this jockeying is the source of the odd and even tendencies.

    I mean seeing a double top on the IT shows a contemporary influence that just migrates down the fractals. The subgroups of people influence every level.

    Even gives you steps as colin contributed and you verify.

    We could do a "wedge word analyisi in ET on odd harmonic trend reversals (peaks and head and shoulders). These two formations are the calssic odd harmonic ones. It is always straight forward and basic in such momentus places. The economic world is very big. Subgroups of practitioners are each huge. The forums here are overt segmentations of such "camps" of thought and influence.

    We will see the market ooze from even to odd and back again.

    We need only answers to:

    Where are we?

    What part of the cycle is next?

    And, How fast is it changing?

    You see evenness prevail in channel action; you have an even double top IT referent. You know where you are.

    Channels extending through BO's down off steps is just where it was on the way to support and consolidation.

    Less and less is missing from our pictures.

  5. Can somebody post a chart of slaloming? I understand it in concept but am having trouble implementing it. Today I slalomed through some congestation at the end of the long downtrend and picked up a few points, but then got killed when it broke out the top of the range, and lost all my profit. Should I have stopped out as soon as the channel line broke? How many points do you guys pick up on each slalom? I was shooting for .5-.75 pts.

  6. I have been following this thread for a while now. It's not always easy to follow but usually with a few reads & a bit of thought, I get there. But I just can't get my head around this odd/even harmonic stuff - what is it? - what is its significance?

    Can someone help me please.

  7. I looked through several books to find a good section. Two close calls were Technical Analysis from A to Z (Achelis) and The TC2000 recommended ref book: The Technical Analysis Course ( Meyers). They were not deep enough. I will keep at it.

    Two other sourse areas are music and engineering.

    Briefly speaking, here is the drift.

    Periodic wave formations can be obtained by putting together (addition) other wave forms. Trigonometric expressions (sin and /or cosine) are one source. Three variables define each one. Magnitude, frequency, and phase angle. Phase angle is how a given item relates to the main item. It is the offset of the shape from the beginning of the main one.

    Price is the main item. Volume moves at twice the frequency of price. A/D moves at twice the frequency of volume or 4 times the frequency of price. This is something I use to divide he price cycle into 8 parts. (See scoring in journal.)

    The more important aspect of this is the price formations and how they wiggle. Draw a triangular price formation. Draw a sine wave inside it. You can see a horizontal axis that is there too.
    Put a sine wave (smaller size in amplitude and 3 cycles long) inside the triangular price formation. 1 and 1/2 cycles fit in the up part of the original sine wave and 1 and 1/2 cycles fit in the down part of the sine wave.

    Add the vertical values of the two sine waves together to get a new graph. You see first a peaking head and shoulders and then a troughing head and shoulders. This is an odd harmonic formation: 1 :3 for the ratio of frequencies (odd numbers only).

    Do another. Start the same with a triangle (we will turn it into a square wave). Add the sine wave. Now add a sine wave 2 times as fast. The new ones each fit into half the original. Add them together. You see how there is no middle part that is highest. You see that the beginning and end is steeper. sketch a square wave in the be more extreme. This is pretending that you have more EVEN harmonics of the primary one.

    we look at price formations and take them apart in the opposite way of building them.

    If the horizontal axis is tipped, then the shapes change. Tipping it up makes a triangular formation be fast rising and slow falling. we could do this with a change of the phase angle as well. I won't but it only takes sliding the harmonic to the side so they do not start exactly together.

    A second way to do this is with power series. Use either odd or even ones in the exponents that are chosen. Sines and cosines have equality in these power series as their makeup.

    Ed Seykota and Soros are EE's and physicists; their minds are in a state where they cannot look at any time based function without reverting to this thought process. I am in the same but smaller boat.

    Because I attended the Lincoln center stuff continualy for years and because of my relationship the the Accustical Cat Gut society of Bell Telephone Labs, I am the type who memorizes the ceiling settings of the sound buffers in an auditorium. This harmonic orientation causes me to know the phase angles of the harmonics of the flute and oboe, which have the greatest musical contrast. I have had maths students plot for months the first seven on butcher paper in color to be able to "see" the note A which the orchestra tunes to.

    One of these two students manages over 8 million dollars (1964 dollars) personally and she is good at it. Another student who endured plotting this kind of stuff was voted best business person of the year by his prep school many years ago as a consequence of running the bond dept of Lehman Bros. His boss, Pete Pederson and I were on a first name basis as a consequence of his formerly being Secretary of Commerce.

    People can really groove if they understand what is going on. the fact that you are dealing with understanding this, means that you are going to understand it.

    My brief explanation is going to give you the basic experience you need to "see" what is going on automatically from now on.

    What is going on here is that we are devouring tons of knowledge, practice and getting into skill development. I am writing in a dense manner in terms of factual substantive content. You all have to spread it out and deepen it. when you do you get big chunks of stuff that builds a large picture of markets and making money. At some point you will compare this with your educational process. This is a full whammy compared to just a book and homework assignments for a term.

    BTL had Kelly college to take up stuff that wasn't in the formal education of new hires. Keely was a President of BTL who had the right picture. There is no college for making money. It is an informal place where people of like mind work together.

    This is better than drawing as I suggested.

    See if you can get the triangular type pattern from the odd sines (Blue) and then make it show head and shoulders. Clue: The primary full 1f and 1/4 of the 5f get you a good head and shoulders right off.

    To do the double top with evens use the 2f, 4f, 6f, etc. Clue: use Clue use the full 2f and 1/4 6f to get a starting double top.

    note if you pull down you are subtracting (180 out of phase).

    Giggle the 4f to imbalance the symetry of the double top. goboth up and down with the 4f so you can raise either side.

    okay. Now to work on the head and shoulders you can add or oppose (pull down the 3f) I used 5f to start to get ou successful right off. to distort the symetry on Hand S use the 2f.

    save this as a fav. LOL. We have a lot to do with it. Some of you will imediately be able to do a whole days waveform with this.

    What a great tool. I did an up channel with two full traverses and a failure on the third traverse which then broke out down. Clue full 1f; 1/4 5f; 1/8 3f; minus (down) 1/10 2f. lol.

    we just have to admit e have a team here. hooray.

    I am trapped. this is so much better than signal generators and oscilloscopes.

    Put some "noise" on the channel by adding in 15f ( this gives two peaking bars on the top of the H of the H and s. 15F is 3x the 5f harmonic that started you off.

    I must put this away. lol.
