Outlook 2003 is the latest release / marketing ploy by Microsoft with new SPAM controls. OE e-mail platform was preinstalled for the past few years with Microsoft Suite. Now 2003 is a more expensive option/upgrade that comes with The Office Suite....almost identical to Express! (I am sure someone will correct me for one reason or another.)

spamhaus.org was on front cover of some magazine featured as leader in spam stopping movement, this is obviously a spam ploy but their purpose is unclear from your email. >Just click the secret link below and have fun: there are nothing secret about those links, btw.
Yeah, I see what you are saying. I guess they are legitimate links. Maybe they are either pissed at these sites or they are trying to make this spam seem more real.
I don't know how so many people can be bothered by spam? Don't your ISP's have spam filtering? Haven't received a single spam in 3 years. Apart from hotmail/yahoo accts, which get the occassional spam, I wouldn't even know what they look like. If I received them, I'd lynch my ISP. Couldn't be bothered dealing with any kind of productivity or bandwidth killers. You only have so much time in your life - don't waste a second of it to unauthorized people, or you'll never get anywhere. Now go and waste even more time flaming me, or just go and ask your ISP about it. That was a pre-emptive "sssh" for the trolls. -S
I did simply state that I am using Outlook in contrast to a previous poster using Outlook Express. I did not imply that this has anything to do with security, this is definitely your own conjecture! I also clearly indicated that I seem to have good results with Norton's in blocking SPAM. nononsense
I registered my own domain so that I can have as many email addresses as I want. I use different addresses for different activities. I also change (~monthly) email which I provide when I shop on the internet. This helps a lot. I rarely get spam. I used to get a lot of it.
As for a counter-attack, just create a new email address, then fill up the mail box COMPLETELY for the old one. Alot of spam is mailed from addresses that exist only long enough to email the crap out. If your box is full, a reply is immediately sent upon receipt stating such - counter attack. After that happens for awhile they tend to remove your email from the rotation. I just switch back and forth between a couple different Outlook style addresses doing the above when the spam gets over-bearing. smitty
I'm very impressed with Earthlink's spam blocking. Strongly recommend getting an @earthlink.net email address.
If you have POP3 access to your mailbox, try MailWasher Pro. Using it you only download mail headers and can easily blacklist unwanted messages. Also you can create own filter rules to block spam.
