Chew on this, it's a lot healthier Conclusions Both red and processed meat intakes were positively associated with cancers of the colorectum and lung; furthermore, red meat intake was associated with an elevated risk for cancers of the esophagus and liver. http://www.plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pmed.0040325 Do you ever wonder why all the recent research and press into the positive relation of diet to health/longevity involve PLANTS of various sort... but NEVER meat? That's no coincidence
That study find (positive association) true. But (association) is NOT proof of (cause) Association is like correlation. It could be many things like the chemicals in the process meat, and what the cow eat to make the beef, what chemical is in the cow feed, what hormones they give the cow... No proof of cause.
Same conclusion reached by WCF/AICR in this report: Recommendation 5: Animal Foods Limit intake of red meat and avoid processed meat Personal Recommendations: People who eat red meat to consume less than 500 g (18 oz) a week, very little if any to be processed. Evidence The evidence that red meat, and particularly processed meat, is a cause of colorectal cancer is stronger now than it was in the mid-1990s. http://www.dietandcancerreport.org/?p=ER Read it and weep for your meat
