Beef, condiments, chesse, onions. tomatoes, pickles, lettuce... oh yeah. Beef is good. It masks the taste of the veggies!
I just can't see how a person can be strong without a moderate amount of animal protein..... I work out like a madman - usually 6 hours everyday and yes, I work out as soon as I wake up on an empty stomach and energy/NO supplements But as soon as I am done with my workout, I have to eat some portions of meat Just like everything in life, anything in moderation is good for ya
Read up on it. You can completely replace all the proteins from animal flesh with a variety of nuts and beans. Even if you don't become a vegetarian, the reading is extremely educational about diet. It's really a matter of *wanting* to switch to a vegetarian diet. We live in a meat-eating culture where meat is cheap and plentiful and accepted as the "normal" diet. You don't really "need" animal protein but it takes work and research to switch to a diet without it. Plus in a meat-eating society you'll be constantly fighting being told that not eating meat is unhealthy. Keep in mind that the research you did to eat healthy as a vegetarian makes you *much* more informed about food and diet than the average person. The meat-eating nay-sayers will spout common wisdom entirely based on biases and attitudes but no real research.

On a recent TED.com lecture it was mentioned that Americans eat 10 billion animals............................ a year!
It's a good thing Americans are eating these animals or we would get overpopulated with them. We would be knee deep in animal poop.
