    True but those other places existed before Silicon Valley became Silicon Valley.

    But I agree everything runs it course and its "days" are numbered.

    Trulia says a range of $2300-$6500/month in Lower Nob Hill, San Francisco

    Although there are some lower priced neighborhoods too.

    All made infinitely worse by a City Council terrified of “gentrification” and who insists on micromanaging the SF real estate market - thereby creating a curtailed, limited housing pool and insane prices.

    To be fair, real estate is equally or more expensive on the Peninsula, none of which has rent control. It's really more of a case of being a narrow strip of land surrounded by water with every buildable inch already built on.

    The last data I saw was for 2016. Mississippi was lowest, and Alaska was highest.
