The simple tax:

Discussion in 'Economics' started by bigarrow, Aug 12, 2012.

  1. The asset prices will reset to reflect the tax overhead.
Farm and ranch land is inflated as it is, this will bring down land prices and with the extremely low income tax this should bring in more small farmers.
Or I could be wrong and this type of tax wouldn't work for asset heavy business's.

  2. Everyone with cash/stocks/bonds/pm will move the assets off shore. Go back to your hole Mr. Liberal/Communist.

exactly..what's the point of having any assets(savings, estate, stocks, bonds) then? to pay more and more every year?(since you taxing salary as an asset, income as asset and any assets themselves)

    Everybody should pay something.
No American should have to pay a higher percentage of his own money just because he was smart/lucky enough to make it.
Many of you don't realize that your money doesn't belong to the whores is D.C.
    Your money belongs to you.
Sad that so many Americans even have to be told this.

  5. do you ever take the time to think about what you propose? lets say we determine that to cover the expenses for running america we need 20% of the average income.
do you want to force grandma on ss making $8000 a year to pay 20% of her income in taxes when she already has less that subsistence income?

  7. The war in Iraq benefitted the rich, not the poor man or even the common man. Why should they pay for it? A poor man doesn't mind driving on bumpy roads, that is the least of his worries. The rich man wants us all to pay a little more taxes so he can drive his nice car on a smooth road. Nobody should have to pay any taxes until they have got their feet on the ground and are finally making more than they need to stay out of poverty.

Nobody should have had to pay for the war in Iraq, because there should never have been a war in Iraq.
Freedom ain't free; not for the rich nor for the poor.

Here's the answer for all of you who are confused:
There should be no income tax.
There should be no capital gains tax.
There should only be a consumption tax.

The problem is spending; not revenue.

  10. why is it that all of the tax schemes you guys come up with that you consider fair have a common theme?
hit the poor harder and the well off less.
