California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, was readying the state for a 90-day surge in cases, a demand that would require adding 50,000 hospital beds to the state’s portfolio. Tuesday saw the death of a patient under the age of 18 in Los Angeles, who is believed to be the nation’s first child to have died from the virus.
The only thing external in that post is a NYT article, which I read. I don't see anything about how doctors and nurses laid off or furloughed in that.
New modeling shows California needs 50,000 additional hospital beds to meet the incoming surge of coronavirus patients, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday. It’s a dramatic jump from the 20,000 extra beds Newsom said the state needed just two days ago, and reflects what the governor describes as dynamic modeling that’s constantly changing as new numbers about coronavirus infections pour in.
You heard hospitals are empty Facts are hospitals are short of bed space for the surge in Corona patients. Facts win.
That "kid" ("child" was 17) had serious health issues in addition to Covid but suddenly, rules of privacy are important (though not important enough to tell us he died of Covid). “The juvenile fatality that the Los Angeles County Department Public Health reported earlier today will require further evaluation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” the statement read. “Though early tests indicated a positive result for COVID-19, the case is complex and there may be an alternate explanation for this fatality. Patient privacy prevents our offering further details at this time.” https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-03-24/los-angeles-young-person-coronavirus-death
Because the only hospitals that exist are in California based on your article? Those facts? i wish I wasn't at work, otherwise I'd post all the videos and comments from people working at some of those very hospitals you claim are so busy.
Your comment was about California...you got cornered and now cannot even remember what you were talking about? YOU: You heard hospitals are laying off doctors and nurses all over.... FACT: Most of that is private medical practices as indicated in the article and some hospital staff related to non-essential staff...the kind not needed for Corona virus treatment. YOU: Hospitals are all empty/ghost towns FACT: State is heading into a severe bed shortage so statewide there is serious crisis YOU: I forgot I was talking about California and now want to change the subject. FACT: you referenced California in your comment.
Here is an excellent site on the Covid hospitalizations in California. Doesn't look all that bad. https://calmatters.org/health/coron...virus-covid-patient-hospitalization-data-icu/ "Severe Bed Shortage"
I'm not looking to change any subject. Still looking for where these things are in that NYT article you posted.
