lol. i hit a nerve. for someone with a law degree to call you those things i suspect he may have had a good reason. why dont you honestly tell us what you said that set him off so we can make a judgement.
I believe he reacted the way he did because he believes as you do in your quote above. I don't agree with that assessment, but that is for another discussion. I agree with the views they hold regarding government overreach in many areas of our lives. I believe the following might be a few: I have no problem with paying taxes; I just hate the way the money is wasted. Because of the waste and fraud, I think my taxes are too high. I don't like losing my rights because others abuse the same rights. Do these two examples make me an extremist?
you know what is nice about these forums... there is no doubt the right is really the middle to libertarian and the left is really screwed up. The left is willing to take away all your individual rights. They want to you to think and speak the party line And the party line is not even internally consistent. Basically the left wants you to be afraid of middle age well educated white people called the tea party when all the tea party wants is to be left alone and to decrease spending. The true monster is the all powerful large leftist govt the drones on this promote every day. 1. Oh you have Relgious rights to choose - screw you. 2. Oh you wish to be able to afford to live on 150,000 thousand a year in CA. Screw you we are raising your taxes 36,000. 3. Oh you wish to be free to choose whether to pay insurance premiums to a third party. Screw you and the constitution pay them. 4. You wish to see all people treated the same... screw you, you are a racist homophobe and if you dare think a contrary thought we will try and convict of hate crimes. 5. And by the way... if you do not like an all powerful Federal Govt... That is klanspeak.
On the surface, I don't think those two comments in isolation make you an extremist. However, answer me this. As you may know, there are a few "libertarians" here who would uphold the "right" of a restaurant owner in refusing to serve blacks on the grounds of "freedom." This is a view shared by Ron Paul. Do you share this view?
Actually, I'll just quote it for you. Out of the blue: Friend: Man, I hate those fucking tea party assholes. Me: I don't necessarily disagree with everything they believe in. Friend: Oh man! That makes you a racist, nazi, and extremist, too.
Primarily the assualt on gun ownership every time a criminal uses a gun. Or we could get into the multitude of gov regulation like my neighbor had to deal with putting in a swimming pool, all because someone somewhere drowned, and on and on and on.
there is almost no call for action anymore when some gun nut murders a bunch of people. i thought sure at least something would come out of the arizona congresswomen shooting. nothing was even proposed. the us has the most lax gun rules of any major nation in the world. how much easier could it be to buy and own guns? why specific law do you think needs to be repealed that hinders you from buying a gun?
You keep posting this but you just totally ignored my response: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=240890&perpage=6&pagenumber=10 From the link u posted egalitarianism incorporates contradictory concepts. The larger problem with your views of left and right wing - there is not a SINGLE society that has ever existed in which there was no social hierarchy.. not one. Are you implying that there has never been a leftist govt?
