The sad truth about trading is

Discussion in 'Trading' started by Index piker, Oct 31, 2009.

  1. Don't be an idiot. I post a system I have used profitably in pretty complete detail. The basis of the system is a well documented and researched market inefficiency that pretty much everyone knows about so it's nothing revolutionary, but I tell you exactly how to apply it to make money. I'm not advertising or selling anything so I have nothing to prove to you... and your request that I do so is way out of line.

I absolutely am not going to post details of my trading size or share documents with you. Who the f*ck do you think you are to even ask?

I will tell you I think the idea of relative performance is ridiculous... I can't pay my bills with relative dollars... so when I say it was impressive I mean it made money.

Instead of being a troll spend 2 hours going through news sources and looking at what the stocks did... Going back to the beginning of '08 should be far enough to convince you... assuming you even know how to do basic research like this.

  2. A guy called "mindtrade" pm'd me and asked where you could get addition and deletion information in advance. I told him I would answer here since anyone looking into this might have the same question.

The answer is that whatever news feed you're using should carry that information. Bloomberg, Reuters, etc. Any service like Briefing.com probably also carries it though I get it through the main news feeds. I don't know if it's possible to get them in advance (assuming the answer is no) but you just need to react the next day... your normal read of the news at night should catch these when they happen.

Remember there are two dates you need to be concerned with: 1) the announcement day and you BUY additions at the closing price of that day and 2) the effective date on which you reverse SHORT the additions. deletions are mirror image. if there is no natural "pair" buy / sell the SPY against the position.

  4. Shall I expect more clueless comments of "being up since March" on your part? :p :D

LOL, told your folks this would be a waste of time.

Please continue believing the fantasy you're expousing here index pikey. Who knows, if you try hard enough, maybe someone will actually teach you how to trade.

    P.S. I wasn't being malevolent ... I really do think you're clueless, and lurefo is stupid. :)

  5. Once again all I see are attempts at a personal attack.
As entertaining as that is, it's only a demonstration of a pathetic argument , a weak mind or both.

Do you have a reasoned argument against passive investing or not?

  6. Once again, all I see is a clueless noob.

As common place as this is on ET, it's only a demonstration of lack of trading skills, inate stupidity, or both.

Do you have any idea how lame you sound with your "passive investing" argument ... on a trading site?

    Guess not.

  7. I don't have to troll after yout posts, they are all over the threads....:D With more than 7450 posts in less than two years, it says a lot about the quality of your contribution to this trading site. :)

Listen champ, you certainly did not kick anyone from the ES Journal (although it seems to be something you fantasize about?). You started calling names because some of us raised the posssiblity of a fat finger event. You might be to young in this business, but it's not a myth buddy, it has happened in the past, will happen again. Now whether it really hapened or not this day is not the question here (eventhough I looked into it in depth and changed my mind about the natutre of what happened). The problem was the way you reacted: like a kid, insulting, thinking you know it all, etc...

As a reminder, everyone saw how much of a mediocre trader you are since you posted your calls in the ES Journal. You see that's the paradox, a newbie like you giving trading lessons to profitable traders. Your posts may impress the newbies as you appear to know what you're doing, but you certainly did not impress the traders who gained their wings.

Maybe you should start a newsletter or a paying trading service, they are full of people like you. :)

  8. Index, you won't have an intelligent discussion with Mandy.

The kid thinks he knows everything. His arrogance stinks all over this site as he posts countless times a day giving lessons and insulting people. He never provides any logical argument. Just pathetic, arrogant, narrow minded affirmations. And insults.

That's the signature of a weak, insecured person. I actually feel sorry for him. His poor trading is probably the consequence of his emotional unbalance.

    hey steady on lurefo.

Why are you accusing poor ole Mandi of being a trader, any kind of trader, when his posts cry out "I do not know what I am talking about .. I am not a trader"

It is comments like yours that give Traders a bad name and I would ask you to exercise more caution in future postings.
    Keep up the good work.
