No....it is not really that simple, as if wearing a mask is going to make the virus disappear. You go out to any store in Florida (at least in my area which is Tampa) and everyone is wearing a mask.
Well, that's brilliant, because that is where I lived, in that area! And where I live now, in the Boston area, everyone is wearing their masks. Else you cannot get into a store. Yeah, it really is that simple! 1. Wear the mask. 2. Use hand sanitizer when you get back into your vehicle (if applicable). 3. Wash your hands with warm, soapy water when you get home. I have relatives in Hernando county on the coast, about 90 minutes north of you, they are in their late 70s, and they have had no problems. Because they wear masks when they go out. Jesus CHRIST people, it is so fucking simple. Pretty please, with sugar on top. WEAR THE FUCKING MASK! BE THE GLADIATOR! PLEASE? WITH SUGAR ON TOP?
You really believe a mask (and I’m assuming everyone is wearing a cloth or disposable mask, not n95) keeps you from getting covid?
Stop with the N95 nonsense. I got the COVID in first week of Feb, before it was a thing. The most acute side-effect was a blocked eustachian tube in my left ear for three months. I visited the ENT four times during that period, with each visit spread apart by one month. On the third visit, I asked the doc for a mask, since my 3M dust mask had shit the bed when the elastic bands broke a few days earlier. He slipped me one of their versions, the standard clinical "cotton" masks you see all the nurses wearing in a hospital setting, with the bungie-type ear-cords. I still have it, and use it to this day whenever I go out. I have yet to be reinfected.
It greatly reduces your chances of getting Covid, together with safe distancing. The data is very clear on that. Denying something like that puts you in the same category as people who refused to use seat belts for many years. How 1950s of you ( again ).
Wrong. Cloth and disposable mask reduce your respiratory particles being thrown out, but they do little in keeping you from breathing in the virus. Distancing much more effective, washing hands yes. It all helps, but the only way to actually keep yourself safe, if that’s your aim, is stay away from people. What we do know for a fact is about 98.5% of the population will have nothing more than cold or flu symptoms at worse.
I credit the combination of them. Pretty please, with sugar on top. Wear the fucking mask. It's not that fucking hard to do. It is not an inconvenience. You ever wear a hat? Same thing, but on your face.
