riskarb had a big mouth last night. But if he really understood trading, where is he today to acknowledge this great trading call? I have only found 3 people who are currently on this site that I respect. 1) Pabst 2) Mr. Subliminal 3) Marketsurfer That's why this site will never be good, too few honorable people.
It's tough to respect someone that comes in being a loud mouth, claiming a top, and selling calls. Then he precedes to brag about a record that's yet unproven. I stick with my clock analogy.
I'm not asking you to respect me. But let's look specifically at the trade I posted here last night. Can you respect a 75% profit in half a trading session, when everyone else here was crucifying me for making it? Can you respect the $15K I made selling calls? Let's stick with the trade of this thread as this is eliteTRADER. Be careful with your term "claiming". Looks like I was correct. I was anticipating, and if you notice, I did not back down from the arse clowns here who crucified me for not understanding risk/reward. Well, who's laughing to the bank today??
Of course! This guy is a LEGEND in his own mind. Pure and simple. But my All-Time Favorite James Stock Retro-Call was last month, when James said that he was COVERING his NAKED 1050 Calls on the S&P for 5.00 that he had sold, only to turn around in the first week of the year, telling everyone about his great trade, as if he had PURCHASED these calls as an OPENING POSITION and they went to $13.70!!! Gee, we could all be so lucky if every newsletter writer and market strategist got credit for closing out a position that then went dramatically in the wrong direction of their initial call. Give me a freaking break! James Stock Senior Member 12-11-03 07:32 PM I'm neutral now and out of my calls and all positions. paid .50 for the 1100 calls that i had been selling at an average price of $4.00 taking an early x-mas vacation. bye-bye. Only to come back and massage his huge EGO once again, just 3 days later: 12-14-03 05:17 PM S&P call options paying $5 for the 1075 calls, and even 50 cents for the 1100 calls seems kind of cheap right now. And still crying out for more attention on the same day: This concludes a year of excellent calls. This latest is really my best one. I wasn't married to my belief, as I let the technicals + my own noodle make the final decisions. As i've said, paying $5 for the 1075 call looks cheap to me! And paying 50 cents for the 1100 calls, oh boy! I'll sleep well tonight. Happy holidays to all! I'm gone! And here's the REAL PUNCH LINE just 17 days later: James Stock Senior Member 12-31-03 03:25 PM The best money making trade on ET in 2003 http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showt...8505#post388505 On 12/11/03 I stated I was buying Dec 1075 calls for $5, which is where anyone could have bought them at the time I posted the above link. On 12/19, a week later, they settled at 13.70, for a gain of 174% in 6 trading days!! Yeah, right! Please leave, and never come back again.
Wags, you know I call it as I see it. Nolan/Romeo/JS has been right about 80% plus on his calls. VERY nice work today Romeo!
Please show everyone where I said I went long the calls. Otherwise you are a LIAR! Now take your lithium, nolan-vinny-sam. Then, like I told you before, read closely what I wrote. I NEVER said I went long these calls. So you are a LIAR. I said I purchased these calls @5, and they settled at 13,70. Stop LYING and telling people I claimed I went long. Or prove that I said it somewhere, otherwise, you are lying. What I said was I purchased the calls @5 and they settled at 13.70. And since the first time I mentioned these calls was when I said I was purchasing them, someone could have followed my advice to purchase them, and then allow them to settle at 13.70. Geez, take your friggin lithium. You are a total idiot, as everyone can see. If you cannot see how purchasing calls @5 that settle a week later @ 13.70 is not a great trade, then you are stupider than I thought, which is hard to fathom. Can you imagine if these calls expired worthless? nolan-vinny-sam would have blown a gasket crucifying me for being wrong and losing 5 points.
Looks to me like plain english I used. Anyone can see that I said I purchased calls @5, and they closed at 13.70. No one can see me say that I went LONG the calls, or SOLD them at 13.70. How about the 1100 calls, which I sold @4, and bought for .50?? Where's your talk on that one?? You have to be the most jealous loser on ET, and that's saying alot with arses like longshit around.
Those cold Winters in Chicago must be really having an effect on you. Sorry bud, but you know as well as I do that successful traders do not hang-out on websites like ET all day long, continually talking about themselves and going on and on about their tremendous track record of making money and winning trades. Riskarb is correct. If someone has produced 40-50% returns over 9 years on a $1MM base, then they have reached ove $20,000,000 in earnings, gross, before taxes. That kind of performance is right up there with Stevie Cohen and SAC, (probably the greatest trader of the 90's) and I sure as hell don't see him on a website like ET, bragging.
