James what is with this whole Don Bright thing? How does he have anything to do with this? I wouldn't trust that fat fuck as far as I could throw him (which I'm specul8ting wouldn't be too far), let alone hand him 50-large If you're in Chi-town then just meet up with Arb on LaSalle street, I'm sure that would work out just lovely for both of you
Hey, you are the one wanting to bet and you set the bet in your statement below. Now I know I can produce what you want to see so my terms to accept your offer are that you deposit the money into a bank account in my name so I have access to the funds then I will produce the audit(s).
I tuned in here expecting to see a conversation on the S&P looking toppy. You know... kind of a market direction discussion with various members contributing their astute commentary on support and resistance. Maybe like the presence of the 200 week sma that has acted as resistance for this week and last; or the concurrent position of the Nasdaq Composite and the 200 week sma similar to the S&P; or how the level of the S&P is now at a significant level of trading resistance dating back to Q4 2001 and Q1 2002, and further speculating whether those holders of equities who bought in then are now going to continue to hold if they are lucky enough not to have sold out for a loss already, or are they going to sell at breakeven because they are thankful as hell to get their money back; or that the Nasdaq is also at a similar two year level and subject to the same conditions; or maybe that simple reliable indicators (yikes) like RSI and Slow Stochastics are way overbot on the longer term charts; we could even bring in some italian representation and demonstrate that the monthly chart for the S&P has pulled back almost 50% from the lows in early Q4 2002 following an almost perfect 68% decline following the highs in 2002; or even something as simple as price pattern analysis and state that it is unusual... although not unheard of... for the index to have so many up weeks in a row without some sort of selloff; or even something as esoteric as believing that if we are topping it will facilitate the selling needed to bring prices back into line with reference to P/E's that have quickly become grossly over-valued secondary to earnings reports that have stopped forecasting decline, and some even forecasting mild to moderate advance. You know, silly crazy wacky stuff like that. Of course to think along those lines you have to believe that daytraders don't actually drive the major market trends, and that the real money that does drive the major trends makes decisions based on craziness like fundamentals, moving averages, a couple of indicators and support and resistance, and that far more money is made using these outlandish "hindsight" methods than using methods only-in-the-hands-of-a-few-forward-thinking-thank-God-they're-here-cutting-edge people.
Hi Inandlong, Hope all is well for you. You see what happens when your not moderating? I get lured into a hissy fight, and you know i'm always a sucker for that. But you've brought me back to earth. A cold slap in the face. What am I doing? I know that no matter how right I may be, it won't be recognized by any sane people here. So why do I try? Like i've told you, I get some cheap thrill out of fighting these posters. Of course, I never let it interfere with my trading, but I should find better ways to get my jollies. Anyway. I called a top, again. And so far, it was a heck of a good call. But why waste these great calls on ungratefuls? Or at least on people who cannot see quality from garbage. You woke me up, that's it for me here. Best to you, Romeo.
Naaah, I actually know better, but I was hoping with a title like this one that picking up the discussion anywhere would pretty much bring me up to date on the curent thinking. There are some good minds here participating. You, James, riskarb, Hello_Dollars, Pabst, Wags, specul8tor... just to mention some. Damn if this couldn't be a good thread that would be of benefit to the members if only.... Edit: James, stay the course, make the calls and the money, but don't get baited. You saw I let my guard down a while back on another thread. Just continue to march my friend.... laffin' all the way to the bank.
Hey!!!! What about my 50 grand? You arss clown. (isn't that what you called me? Now, we're even on that.)
This just turned into an entertainment thread. The mods should rename it and move it to chit-chat. It was fun entertainment today while monitoring trades, though. I think there is a thread entitled something like "Where is the ES going" that is more on topic.
