The S&P is looking very toppy

  1. I don't think Pabst needs a lithium addict and serial stalker telling him his business. Pabst is man enough to take care of himself.

But you nolan-wiggle-sam said it was a good bet that Dean became the democratic nominee (see chit-chat "earn 62% betting on Dean"), such a good bet that you were willing to play it at LESS than even money (bet $5 to win $4). Now what were you saying about understanding risk/reward?

  2. James, you're taking your thread off-topic.

  3. Now why don't you quit calling me Nolan-Vinny Sam for one moment and DO LIKE THE MODERATOR SAYS AND STAY ON TOPIC.

    The question still remains James:

How do you LIMIT your risk going into an Expiration being short (naked) S&P Futures Call Options?

What risk management tool would you have used had the March S&P futures contract gapped up 10-12 points on Friday morning's opening and option expiration and traded up thru the 1140 strike price?

You have already avoided answering this question twice previously, and the ENTIRE board has seen how much of a coward you are. Please feel free to enlighten us and answer my question!

  4. Sorry, i'm trying not to, but some (and it's just a few) are very persistant.

When a real question comes up, I do answer it to the best of my ability.

From now on, I will ignore all the noise, like Inandlong suggested. Thank you Richtrader, for helping out.

  5. How about answering the question that dealt with your bragging about how great of a Risk Manager you are?

You obvously have no idea what you are doing, because you still have not answered the question that I posed earlier, which I will ask one more time:

"How would you have limited your risk, being short the 1140 Calls on the S&P Futures had they "gapped" open 10-12 handles the morning of last Friday's expiration?"

James Stock, you pride yourself in your ability to limit and manage risk regarding your naked call selling, yet you have not provided an answer to a very reasonable question.

  7. Looks to me like the S&P is having trouble at 1150.

    Looks like resistance to me.

The day is still young grasshopper. Are you talking at least medium term top? Tough to judge on first hour of a day and MSFT earnings coming up.

  9. This grasshopper is sticking to his guns that 1150-1170 is a top.
Since the S&P has already topped 1150, we are getting close..

    Above 1133 . . .
    MAJOR BREAKOUT.

Next stop 1155-1160 with possible 1174 March 2002 Highs as a target.

    :)
