Well I got out of my longs in the morning when GE and C came with their earnings. In the first half hour when The market could not go up from these oversold level, I went short. Probably the best day ever. Nice Call Bird!!!!!! "It ain't bragging if you can back it up", and you sure as hell did it!!!!!!!
good work amigo! It's great to hear someone on this "elite-trader" message board finally sharing a relevant trading story, and especially great that you went along with the idea of a very strong top formation. and to lilduckling, hang in there. consider your loss an investment in Wall St. University. Now try to learn from your mistake and get em next time!
I also want to commend jackbyrd for the above quote, coming on the first page of this thread. He was right on the money, and he paralleled a specific chart pattern that was very insightful. For anyone who follows TA, the 1973 pattern is extremely similar to the current one, and it was a major contribution by jackbyrd to share that with this crowd of "traders". One more thing to lilduckling, you were 2nd place of over 25 participants in the "what will the S&P end 2005?" question. Don't take that lightly, it is extremely difficult to accurately predict a month out. You have good senses, so don't get bummed on a wrong call. No one gets em all correct, not even me!
such great ET threads like "I almost lost my shirt trading today" http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=62592 and "how much did you lose on the correction today?" http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=62384 are mind boggling to the bird. Any of these people are welcome to talk stocks with me, right here, yet they don't, for whatever reason. But they moan and groan if the market declines. Who said the market would always go up??? Again, the bird is open to all serious market questions and conversations...
