The Road We've Traveled

  1. Thank you for that. I really doubt this gentleman would actually grab a gun, but it's that type of rhetoric that ignites others of less sanity to do horrible things. I'll give Mr. Achilles a pass, of course.

Since I've been semi retired, just trading for myself, no longer for my banking group, I've spent more time here in the basement, as you guys call it. Gives me a chance to exercise my debating training from college, try to stay independent, not an easy task.

I've always been a social liberal, I know a bad word, but an extreme fiscal conservative. I just hate the hate, as they say. I like discussions, but to when I see absolutes like 'end of America' and all that nonsense, well, just seems like nonsense. To see people get all worked up from some TV or Radio show rhetoric is a bit chilling.

    Thanks for helping out.

Give me a pass? You owe me an apology for making a libel accusation. You're in the wrong, and you know it. So you cower behind your original accusation AS IF repeating it will somehow strengthen your delusional point. Admit you were wrong, and move on, like a man. Everyone else can see it. You realize the left-wing media you consider "objective" are guilty of the same type of extremist fear-mongering you blame the right-wing for? Lefties are constant race-baiters and see the world pregnant with hate-crimes. On top of it, they're drama queens and notorious for overreacting. Like you. Spare me your Keith Olbermann bullshit.

  4. Overreaction is your stock in trade. Pot. Kettle. Black.
Also, I notice the usual faux-libertarian bs: you're always far more passionate about beating up on the left than the right. Just like every other so-called libertarian on this board.
You're not. You're just so far over to the right that you despise the ones who are willing to actually compromise and talk to the folks on the left.
There's a perfectly descriptive word for you, and it doesn't start with an l.

Guess I struck a nerve, huh? Besides hardly noticing you, the odd time I do, you're bitching and moaning about conservatives (case and point), or lecturing us on obscure left-wing political history, as if socialism is the misunderstood panacea that's gonna save this country. The Right has far more in common with Libertarian ideals then the Left, but has a long way to go. I get into it with guys like Ohms and Trader666, but who gives a shit? Had old guys like you actually did your part to defend the Constitution instead of voting for the next pipedream, we wouldn't be in the shit we are today. You're a partisan idiot. Good when your guy does it. Bad when the GOP does it. Waste of time

  6. You mean defend the original constitution that had no bill of rights? And then when it did, it excluded women and slaves? That constitution?

Are you one of those Libertards who throws the baby out with the bath water? As if slavery somehow invalidates the genius of individual liberty and limited Government?
