The risk of breathing car air

  1. Why do I get the sense that you didn’t watch the video, or that if you did that you didn’t understand it?

All new car dealers apply tons of toxic chemicals to the car interior.

They want the new car driver to have this 'nice' hallucinating feeling.

We just have to put the new car under the hot sun and air it for a few days.

OK cup of Joe. You can crack the window open a hair and you get fresh air flowing through the cabin.

Speaking of outgassing, how about all the fumes you are breathing in in your enclosed space with no ventilation, with all those plastic dolls in your studio?

    Idiot.

Just like in the varicose vein thread, I will provide the solution:

Portable oxygen tank and mask inside the car! But wait, the mask itself is made of plastic, so we need a mask for the mask, so we wouldn't breath in plastic.

It is masks all the way down!!!

Wait, I have another idea. Smoking cigarettes probably will counteract the smell of plastic. And smoking when in a small enclosed place while wearing an oxygen mask will probably solve all your long term problems.

    See? I am always helpful...

  6. Probably the best suggestion I have read on ET for a while! I also like to think this "meta-mask" approach could be applied to problems in life.

There are "air purifiers for vehicles" designed to filter out those chemicals in the air inside your vehicle.

They do work but will probably be seen by most consumers as not needed when they can just raise the window down for a good airflow in-and-out of the vehicle. Yet, they can not do that if they live in a winter environment or drive in barely moving traffic...

That is when I turn on my air purifiers in the auto (winter driving, driving in traffic, long distance traveling).

Yes, we are living longer but with more diseases that are now treatable. Simply, the elderly are the biggest users of medicine, medical treatments, and hospital visits/stays...the exception is infants less than one year of age because they're more vulnerable to the environment/surroundings than the elderly.

Medical treatment is a multiple billion dollar-a-year industry and our lifespan has grown with the growth of the medical treatment industry.

Also, there's a direct correlation between longer lifespans for those with medical insurance along with improvements in nutrition, hygiene, housing, sanitation, control of infectious diseases, and other public health measures reduced mortality rates versus those without medical insurance and the previously mentioned improvements.

At a recent dinner, one of my guests went outside to smoke and when he came back inside...he started coughing a lot. I recommended he should cut back on the smokes.

He replied - My grandfather died of lung cancer in his early 40s but only because the cancer treatments sucked back then. I'm going to enjoy my cigarettes because if shit hits the fan...there are now very good cancer treatments.
