John Glenn Jr. was a famed Marine Corps aviator who was selected as one of the military test pilots for American space program in the late 1950s and the 1960s. Apart from being the first American to orbit Earth and the fifth person in space, Glenn also participated in World War II and the Korean War. He passed away on Dec. 8, 2016 at the age of 95.
