  2. You can't refute truth. You can however, like you're doing, ignore it.

    For your speculation about fuzzy "standard of living" being more important than cold hard numbers, here's a nice funny video

    Indeed, standard of living over 50 years does seem to improve. A refrigerator is a sure sign of being middle class :p

    As towards your claim of the graph proving nothing.. I must say.. PSYCHWE :D :D :D Okay okay. I was joking about the rich stealing from the poor. Just like you might, or might not have been, joking about the poor getting more lazy over time and saying that that's the cause of what's happening in the graph.

    However I hope you do recognize what the graph is really about. Growing income disparity between the rich and the poor. And in history of USA, that has never bode well for America. Last time we had such an income disparity, the Great Depression happened...

    ...and taxes on the rich doubled. :eek: :eek: :eek:

  3. A refrigerator is a sure sign of cheap energy.

    It will be very interesting to see how Westerners react as declining energy sources slowly but surely squeeze the middle class out of existence. And without the bulk of citizenry living as comfortable middle class, I doubt democracy survives intact.

    Peak Oil -> Peak Democracy?

  4. Interesting point the ideology of sacrafice runs deep in most western religions. It is a good tool to keep the mases inline. Wealth condensation has always been going on. There will always be law of the jungle it will never change. The type of competition for resource has though. A global caste system is developing it is just the way things are there is no point in fighting, just conform and comply is it the only thing left to do. Or just leave it. The game is rigged and the chinese are are winning big time this place is hopeless.

    If you took all the monies in the world and divided it equally amongst the people of the world in less than 25 years...

    the people who originally had the wealth would have it again.

    The machinations of the "rich" aside there are other reasons that the poor are poor simply because the rich are rich.

    How many lotto winners have gone bust? They went bust because Goldman Sachs didnt advise them? Or advised them too well?

    Take some responsibility for your life.

    The way the rich steal from the poor:

    Invent, design, finance, manufacturer, and market products that people want to buy.....thats all.
