NATO has no longer reason to exist . I would be American I would not understand the necessity to keep troops in Europe, in Japan etc. You are still welcome in Europe (unlike in Japan and South Korea)but we don't really need you anymore. What does SOB "collateral damage"Rumsfeld know about Europe anyway? Do you even know where Lithuania and Albania are? I don't think so, cos it's not even close to become a center of gravity .
Military History of France Gallic Wars â Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian. Hundred Years War â Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: "Franceâs armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman." Italian Wars â Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians. Wars of Religion â France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots.Thirty Years War â France is technically not a participant, but manages to get invaded anyway. Claims a tie on the basis that eventually the other participants started ignoring her. War of Devolution â Tied. Frenchmen take to wearing red flowerpots as chapeaux. The Dutch War â Tied. War of the Augsburg League/King Williamsâs War/French and Indian War â Lost, but claimed as a tie. Three ties in a row induces deluded Frogophiles the world over to label the period as the height of French military power. War of the Spanish Succession â Lost. The war also gave the French their first taste of a Marlborough, which the have loved ever since. American Revolution â In a move that will become quite familiar, France claims a win even though she barely participated. This is later known as the "de Gaulle Syndrome", and leads to the Second Rule of French Warfare: "France only wins when America does most of the fighting." French Revolution â Won, primarily due to the fact that the opponent was also French! The Napoleonic Wars â Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer. The Franco-Prussian War â Lost. Germany first plays the role of drunken frat boy to Franceâs ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night. World War I â Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. Thousands of French women find out what itâs like to not only sleep with a winner, but one who doesnât call her "Fraulein," Sadly, widespread use of condoms by American forces forestalls any improvement in the French bloodline. World War II â Lost. Conquered French liberated by the United States and Britain just as they finish learning the Horst Wessel Song. War in Indochina â Lost. French forces plead sickness; take to bed with the Dien Bien Flu.Algerian Rebellion â Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a western army by a Non-Turkish Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare: "We can always beat the French." This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese and Esquimaux. War on Terrorism â France, keeping in mind its recent history, surrenders to Germans and Muslims just to be safe. They attempt to surrender to the Vietnamese ambassador but fail after he takes refuge in a McDonaldâs. Letâs face it. When it comes to war, France gets rolled more often than a Parisian prostitute with a visible mustache. Theyâve been beaten so many times thereâs no fight left in them.
oh, but france is one of our BIG ALLIES, we better not attack Iraq if they don't want us too, after all we need them TO DEFEND US if we get in trouble.....lol.
One question comes to mind, if France exits NATO, which it clearly doesn't belong in, how long will it be before Germany takes them over ?
Various versions of this BS are flowing around. === Gallic Wars â Lost. In a war whose ending foreshadows the next 2000 years of French history, France is conquered by of all things, an Italian. === There was no France at the time, only independent tribes either ignoring or fighting each other. Ultimately, Rome falls to various barbarian tribes, including gallic ones. === Hundred Years War â Mostly lost, saved at last by female schizophrenic who inadvertently creates The First Rule of French Warfare: "Franceâs armies are victorious only when not led by a Frenchman." === The England of the time was ruled by an offspring of the French nobility. England was previously conquered by William of Normandy. 'Honni qui mal y pense', the British motto, is not written in French for nothing. By the way, there as as much fighting with english armies, than between French armies of various geographical areas. This war was mostly a civil war. === Italian Wars â Lost. France becomes the first and only country to ever lose two wars when fighting Italians === There was no such thing as Italy at the time, there were independent kingdoms(like Piemont). These kingdoms managed to get a part of their territories, lost to France, back. If this is to be called a loss, a couple of wins must be added for the previous victories. === Wars of Religion â France goes 0-5-4 against the Huguenots. === It was a civil war. Did the US won or lost their civil war ? === The Napoleonic Wars â Lost. Temporary victories (remember the First Rule!) due to leadership of a Corsican, who ended up being no match for a British footwear designer === At this time, Italy and Spain were sub-kingdoms of France. Of course, anyone with a little knowledge of geography could realize that one small country had little chance fighting all over and as far as Russia, but still managed to rule Europe for a while. Corse is in France and was at the time. === World War I â Tied and on the way to losing, France is saved by the United States. === Actually won. As usual, the American are late, but the French managed to protect most of the country from the three simultaneous opposing nations. The allied troops won, they were all under the command of Foch, a Frenchman. === World War II â Lost === Actually won. The French troops sustained heavier casualty rates than during WWI, in order to allow the 'heroic escape' of their British 'allies'. The US continues funding Hitler, and maintain enthousiastic retionships with the Vichy occupational gvt. Of course, the US changed sides when they realized the Soviets and the local Europeans resistances had a chance at taking out the Nazis. By the way, modern France is 10 times older than the modern US. So, if one wanted to write the same bullshit about the US, would he have to write : -10 lost civil wars -10 tied Korean wars -10 lost vietnam wars ??? This is about as insane and inaccurate as the original text. OHLC
** One question comes to mind, if France exits NATO, which it clearly doesn't belong in, how long will it be before Germany takes them over ? ** France is only marginally integrated to NATO, and left it in the past, under De Gaulle. BTW, Germany and France are in peace nowadays. The German would not have a chance anyway, they dont have any nuclear capabilities. OHLC
OHLC - are you French or is there another reason you didn't understand that the earlier post was a JOKE??
