If they cant make the 86% tough shit.Admissions are and should be more than just GPAs and SATs anyway.

BTW,record labels do give to many record contracts to garbage white rappers.

  2. You leftards will always find something to blame for your own failure and incapability to compete. You will always need the nanny government support in everything. Don't be a wimp.

  3. Why should admissions be more than GPA and SATs? Whoever works hardest academically should get to go to the best schools no matter your skin color.

But ok...lets say suddenly blacks start doing better on test scores and actually start out performing white and asian kids on test scores. So much so that they do better than 50% of all the Asian and white kids. Should Harvard now stop more than 14% of blacks from getting into harvard?

It's based on intellect obviously. That's also more than likely why you don't get it.

Because extracurricular activities, community service, work and life experience,a diverse university that matches US demographics etc should also be a factor imo.

You have answered your own question. Being a minority is not an important criterion for failure. That's obvious.

You might be on to something here: "...many minorities do not even try, whether it is voting or investing in their personal development over fears they are just wasting their time" I think it will pay dividends to keep thinking along those lines, and what to do about this.

I imagine you meant to say, "too many of certain minorities do not even try..." and I think you are probably right and most likely the reason is as you say. I'm going to have a hard time getting enthusiastic about a career in the NBA when I am only 5'11".

To be motivated one must have hope based on reasonable odds.. There are many things we could do that would be helpful. Leaving virtually all the disposable income with the top 20% of earners isn't helpful. The U.S. was once considered a land of opportunity. Today it is a land of opportunity in the same way a casino is "a land of opportunity." One in so many thousand hits the jackpot. Knowledge of that is not terribly motivating.

  7. I could use serveral members of my family as case studies in understanding how people with even high IQs, attractive, and even having no major bad habits fail to achieve what they want. Parenting and environment are often very strong predictors of success and happiness. I will do a case study on them in a future post.

What a load of crap. The opportunities have never been greater and the poor have never had it better in the US.

I look forward to it. We know parenting and environment are strong predictors, i.e., highly correlated. Therefore a potentially fruitful area of inquiry is whether there is a second best alternative when parenting and environment are far from ideal.
