The only hybrid that makes any real sense right now is a plug in hybrid. Most people drive less than 20 miles each day. That would mean that you could run mostly on recharges and rarely have to go to the gas station. If you needed to make a longer trip once in a while, the gas engine would be ready to do that for you.
Not sure what the warranty is on these hybrids but what happens when these things start needing repairs? I bet it will be waaaaay more expensive than your standard 4 stroke engine.
