After trading forex for a few weeks I think the larger the timeframe the better TA works for this instrument. I have gradually moved up from the 5 min. timeframe to the 60min.
FX Intraday, trading the 4 major pairs and End of Day trading the 4 majors, the 3 commodity currency pairs and the yen and swiss franc paired with the EUR and GBP (strong vs weak). Used to trade currency futures but switched to spot since i didn't see anything different and it's cheaper (no comms, just very tight spreads) plus execution speed. Always with the trend, never counter. Usually trading retracements, never breakouts. Intraday, the trades last longer (measured in bars) and i give them more space to work out. End Of Day they last only up to 4-5 bars (small jumps).
