GG, this is a guess, but perhaps they're referring to NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming.) As far as I know, that shit is effective. I'm fortunate enough to be able to get laid by using my 'real' personality, but some are forced to use slimy manipulative tactics. For them I'd suggest looking up the name Ross Jefferies.
