The first debate will be the most watched show on TV this year, perhaps in a long while. The topics are first rate. Unless Biden has been pretending the last few months at being mentally deficit (if so we are talking Academy Award time), it is hard to believe Biden can go the distance. My impression to date is that it is very, very, sad that Joe Biden is a presidential candidate. He is certainly being portrayed as the worst presidential candidate in the last 50-75 years. Perhaps the worst presidential candidate ever. I can appreciate dumbing it down so America can be more inclusive, but Biden takes it to the extreme. It is almost like letting chimpanzees run for political office because they are genetically similar to some members of our society. God Bless America and all the citizens who fought for our freedom.
First things first about the debates, neither candidate is really any good at the actual debating part of a debate. Biden got handled in the dem primary and Trump lost every debate with Clinton. But, winning a debate hasn’t proven anything in the last two cycles. And both Biden and Trump have a way of side stepping winning the debate and getting an actual gain out of the debate. Ive said this before and I will say it again, Biden has a way of losing the debate but winning the argument. Castro, Warren, Harris all got the better of him on stage but what lasted was Biden’s standing in the face of far left wing policies. For example, when Castro tried to pressure Biden into committing to repeal a portion of immigration law Biden stood his ground. He got hammered but Biden’s message of not caving to the far left lasted longer than the attack. Same with Healthcare and Warren - he stood his ground. What I will add to that is Trump also has a way of losing the debate but getting a message pushed out to a broader audience. When Trump told Hillary Clinton she would be going to jail that focused people’s resentment at the entire system onto Clinton. Trump became a hero to some people who have felt lost and uncared for. As to who has the better actual debate performance, as in best arguments and control of the facts, the Trump campaign continues to be the gift that keeps on giving to Joe Biden. They set the expectations so low that it’s actually difficult for him to have a poor performance.
A few years ago, Biden was as sharp as a tack. He would have easily defeated Trump. But he has deteriorated markedly since then and I feel sad to see what has happened to him, and what he has been coerced to do.
Yeah, and this had nothing to do with Biden and more to do with the fact the DNC saw Biden as the only electable candidate that wasn't off his rocker. So in true DNC fashion, they picked who was to win the nomination, just like they did last time.
