In June, the U.S. Northern Command distributed a âCongressional Fact Sheetâ entitled âLegislative Proposal for Activation of Federal Reserve Forces for Disasters.â That proposal would amend current law, thereby âauthorizing the Secretary of Defense to order any unit or member of the Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, and the Marine Corps Reserve, to active duty for a major disaster or emergency.â Taken together, these reserve units would amount to âmore than 379,000 military personnel in thousands of communities across the United States,â explained What are They preparing for? They need more than 400K when the SHTF. Unless, of course, the state governors use their national guardsmen to maintain some sort of order. When our economy finally accelerates its descent - things will get ugly. Hurricane Katrina showed us how an American city can quickly turn into a Beirut.
400K Troops? That's not a Police Force. That's Civil War. What does the Government know, they're not telling us?
It's not just for maintaining order. OK, I'm going to sound crazy here. But remember last year when the financial system froze up? It could happen again. And when it did last year, Bush and his advisors were actually discussing how to feed 300 million people if there was a hard stop. The military would be needed for logistics as well. Our food supply chain and fresh water delivery is extremely efficient - BUT - it is not a "dumb" robust system. You sacrifice that with efficiency. A financial collapse or major oil shock - whatever that means and however that plays out - would have tremendous consequences. Yes, I sound crazy, but that's only because most here take for granted how 300+ million people get their food and water every day. And I don't see that kind of an event as completely outside the realm of possibility. We have a very complex economy and society. And just like complex mechanical systems (as opposed to "dumb" ones) - when things breakdown, it can be a total shutdown. The higher level of complexity a society and economy has, the harder it falls if there is an energy or financial shock.
Foreshadowing. The military wouldn't be doing this if they weren't expecting (or planning) something big. My guess: nuclear attack on a large U.S. city. With that, they should garner enough support to attack Iran.
They neek 400K+ troops to deal with the right wing crazies who are armed to the teeth...and talking about performing seditious acts.
...or maybe they need them to deal with the left wing crazies who are constantly performing lewd acts.
