I completely believe you make up your stupid straw men without the help of cable news.

Yeh, OK then the guys you hang out with at the gym feed you today's talking points.

Portray calm pragmatism facing covid-19 as fear then screech about antifa destroying the world :)

    Of course you do...

Just like the way you chose countries which supported the approach I advocated while thinking you were correcting me.

Although @gwb-trading and I have nothing in common really, both having worked in IT we have a grasp of how to run complex projects on large scales. This allows one to grasp what is magical thinking vs what can actually be done and a calm acceptance of unknowns needing some replanning.

In a lot of his covid analysis I see familiar thinking drawn from practical project (sometimes painful) experience.

When you have not had experience of the seriously complex like Jem and the Captain.. Well its pretty obvious the amateurish result.

Jem sees reality as a matter of bulling an argument through. That may work with an entirely human legal problem but code, kit and virus (both kinds) don't give a shit what you insist is reality.

I was not screaming about Antifa, I recall writing I admired their guts or Chaz's guts.
I know the democrats are using them to stop some of their voting block from leaking.
Their movement will be gutted the way the establishment gutted the tea party.

  7. Pretty much a lone wolf at the gym. Had a workout buddy but past three months have thrown that off track.
Ninety percent of the conversations I have at the gym start like this. Excuse me, can I ask how old you are. I tell them and then they say, hope I'm still in here at that age. That about covers it. The other ten percent are, how many sets you have left. Never, not once, a political conversation.
Far as Antifa, they are a far greater threat to society at large than Covid will ever be. Virus will eventually pass through, a vaccine will come and that'll be that. Vaccine for Antifa is a bullet and I don't see anyone with the balls to do that, so they win a little at a time.

Well we won't ser eye to eye on antifascism being a bad thing. But I guess you don't see the drift twoard fascism or really understand how it takes hold by making people vote for it.

The people at the gym are worried about you and rather sensibly. Anyway, having a tiring day. Woke up feeling not bad but not good and its stayed that way all day.

I had started producing a short film (sci-fi) just before all this happened and I need to get back to it. I may rewrite a scene to support antifascism. ;)

  9. Good luck with your film. Years ago, like mid nineties, I had a friend studying film and I had a part in one of his school project movies. He was big into the black scene at the time, Jackie Brown type stuff. He also liked to date black strippers. Anyway I'm have the role of a serial killer type and this black chick is working undercover as the bait. Whole thing was filmed at a lakeside park in Chicago. It was interesting and fun. Most difficult part was dubbing in dialogue after the shoot. Tough getting into character in the studio.
Anyway, feel better soon and don't overthink the script.
