    Thank you for stating this.

People are going to die from Covid. People are going to die from the flu, from other Coronaviruses, from Cancer, Diabetes and other sicknesses - contagious or otherwise. That's life. None of us make it out alive.

We have had enough time to prepare and flatten the curve. It should not be necessary at this point to lock anyone down, destroy anyone's economic livelihood or wreck people's lives if they are not at risk. Those who are at risk (the people who are older and infirm or immuno-impaired) should use caution. They should use caution any time a particularly nasty virus is circulating.

The only thing I've been against since the beginning was burning down the house simply because we found ants in the kitchen.

I agree that we need to start opening up again to get the economy moving. As I have always stated we should use a phased re-opening approach in every state keeping a close eye on the COVID health situation and being prepared to mitigate again if a COVID outbreak greatly worsens in a community.

I am hoping that warmer summer weather would help reduce COVID infection like it does the flu. But so far there seems to be limited hope for this based on the situation in other warmer countries.

I know you have advocated for a reopening with a planned phased approach. Where you and I differ is that I do not believe we should have shut the economy in the first place.

And, obviously, I totally disagree with you.

no... once again you don't understand what you read...

    this is the main takeaway....

"Nor is there enough data to say lockdowns are more deadly than the disease -- which has infected over 5.5 million people worldwide and killed more than 350,000.
"None of us [economists] have enough information to know if lockdowns are worth it or not. We are not operating in the realm of perfect information or even much information," Thomas Hale, associate professor in public policy at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University, told CNN".

Put in my terms... you have no data or science to say the any group but particularly the low risk group should have ever been forced to lock down after we saw the hospital beds were empty.

and as I told you although you lied your ass off this had never been done before... you troll liar...

"But there is no precedent to the scale of the lockdowns enacted around the world to combat the coronavirus. The best we can do, say economists, is to track the emerging evidence. "We don't know much about the epidemiology of this disease; we don't know how long it will last, how the economy will react -- these are all big unknowns -- so the best we can do at this point is follow the evidence we do have, be completely committed to following the science and updating our strategies as we get new information," Hale added."

Good... you read the article. It quotes people from both sides of the issue to provide some balance in perspectives.

Yet once again you find the few quotes that support your assertions but ignore the rest.

    The title should have been

Critics say lockdowns will be more damaging than the virus. Experts say we need for data.

The experts in the article did not really declare the idea of lockdowns being more damaging a false statement or false choice. They said we needed more data.

I addressed the slanted title / headline. It did not really match the content... well.

I read many of your links. You are the one who does not learn from the links I give you.

    In summary

The article was surprisingly (for CNN) useful and well done. The headline was so off it was almost wrong compared to the content.

You very rarely post an article. You merely post your rants. Most of your assertions are completely incorrect. You never back your claims with facts or information.

    that is total bullshit...

remember for weeks you pretended you had articles about historical country wide shutdowns... but you would never post a links proving it. you would say bullshit like you already had.

but the links you had posted consisted of anecdotes about a few cities which partially shutdown big gathering places. I ranted about what a bullshitter you were on that thread... many times.

Now you weeks of bullshit on that subject... you were just gutted by your article on CNN.

You are the ultimate Covid bullshitter. You are proven wrong all the time.
