Maybe, maybe not. Many other factors not the least of which is the strength of ones immune system. If it's time alone then a quick trip to the barbershop is safer than a longer trip to the grocery store. Since that is not true from a risk assessment time is not the major determining factor
When you say "plenty of the US was shutdown in the 1940s and 1950s for periods of time" you really need to be specific. Was the whole country shut down? Were people talking about staying shut down until they found a vaccine? Or did they go on living their lives? Polio is an example of a virus that I can understand shutting down the country for. Fortunately we weren't interconnected during those years throughout the world like we are today. If something like polio came around now, and it attacked everyone equally and crippled people then of course these measures would be called for, and yes, until there were a vaccine. But that isn't what we have here. We have a cold virus that is nasty to the elderly and infirm. Everyone else is essentially fine, and there's no need to lock away the world because a small percentage of us have problems with it.
Prior to Covid, if people had immuno compromised individuals in their house (cancer patients, as an example) did anyone even think to say the rest of the world should take protective measures because they had someone vulnerable to a disease circulating at that time? Of course not. That's just the latest "pass the buck" in responsibility crap. My father (deceased for a few years now) had a kidney transplant and the anti-rejection drugs kept his immune system suppressed. When the swine flu outbreak occurred, he was confined to his house with his wife. We took extra care with them. Never did I think, we need to close the town down because my father is extra-susceptible! What a joke.
you made claims and now you refuse to support them. all you have to do is provide some quotes and some links. I will tell you why you are not providing any links and quotes... 1. its because you were proven full of shit on other threads and I believe you are full of shit on this thread... 2. as you have been full shit on the doctor birx issue about 25% overcount on the other thread 3. and you were full of shit when you said the WHO said we can't get to immunity 4. and you were full of shit on the de Prado thread where you completely mis-represented what he said 5. and you have been full of shit on multiple other threads from R0 rates to claiming Germany was a success because of massive testing and tracing. Which was unfounded bullshit when you said it.. you are a compulsive and proven liar on Covid threads.
but lets say that pee is a virus. when the pee hits the ground the left will freak out and shutdown the country. so if you don't want to step in pee stay the fuck home and keep yourself isolated and tell your lefty friends to let the rest of us take reasonable precautions like watching out for puddles of pee and when we go home... make sure those who are scared are not exposed to us.
except microdroplets carrying a virus are invisible, linger in the air for hours, and can be carried by a gentle breeze, but nice spin attempt
so you make a pee analogy and I show it to be shit... for fun... and now you want to talk about masks? Three studies I read said fabric masks have not shown any efficacy in stopping the transmission of Covid. They conclude that mask may be useful but they don't really know. I also saw one "study" which say they could be useful... but they did not really produce the data... So far I have not seen any solid science. Do you have any real science? I really would like to see solid science. I have a family member and multiple friends in the medical field that would like to know their disgusting fabric masks which are collecting bacteria all day ... which they have to wear all day because of the shortage... are actually doing something for them with respect to Covid.
