The Overnight Drift Higher In Index Futures

Well I've been here for close to 20 years. Sometimes you just need to clear your head.

Oh look the stock index futures are up overnight .....SHOCKER!!

 

All these profits while I slept...

 

I see DOM only. Maybe you can clarify?

 

All before the markets open. Cash markets gap up and sideways fro 6 hours.

 

Try and imagine the amount of capital required to make the gains occur during market hours without the giant gap up on the cash open. Thats the magic of the stock index futures. All these overnight gains on a small fraction of the daily volume.

By the way, this is not how bear markets end. This is a feel good rally heading into midterm elections.

 

Umm no it isn't but ...

... where are those profits showing again?
