The Opening Orders Thread

  1. Good points, especially about the "strategy" getting you "in" - as I mentioned earlier, the "getting out" part is still an art, no matter how much help we get from automation.

  4. BBY, HAL, and CC, +$300 ....weird BBY opening. Opened at 50.45, printed almost immediately down to 50.21 (I only got 25% covered there), bounced back up...did OK, and then it ran down to 49.80 or so, oh well. CC cost a bit, and HAL made up for it.

  6. Interesting...thanks Don...your giving up all of your secrets :). ummm can I watch you trade your PERSONAL account, looking over your shoulder someday.

can the specialist ID your traders ...? your taking away some steam from his trades.

I suppose you guage your size with a step approach for a good reason.

  8. Educate me...What is so funny?...is Don's tradesize that small/ times many of his traders doing the same thing? I am embarrassed now...but beat the crap out of me..maybe I'll learn.

Look, I trade Forex and have learned that you must keep everybody happy..I just thought if the Specialist was on to "opening envelopers"..that he might not be happy...perhaps he is trapped in keeping an orderly market with all the millions he trades, or maybe its all my imagination about how a Specialist works...I suppose different scans can be set up to discover how the particular specialist operates (if I am trading with him, then I need to understand him and I can imagine, they can have different personalities, which I do excel in learning..I guess it could be like poker ...).

Some real smart Bright traders can catch this and really run with it, I can imagine. Even I ,maybe in 10 years, could learn it! I just was thinking about passing the losing phase....but still be able to get the "sting" of learning.
