I could care less if it was fibs or not. WHY they work?.. I dont care. I could probably find mathematical relationships to trading, and how many times a day I take a sh-t. --- and yes MANY pro traders use fibs, and I know two of them. Do a search on youtube called Ratiotrading, these guys use nothing but fibs. Please send them a message telling them how stupid they are, and tell me what they said. Love to hear it. Another guy I know started his own website where he teaches people to trade using nothing but fibs..its called bobokus.com . He was a member of forexfactory.com and started a very successfull thread that is still alive today http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=3512598#post3512598 www.bobokus.com
To piss you off more, there is a hedge fund that trades using astrology. The Astrologers Fund isn't a mutual fund. It's an institutional fund that manages money for high-net worth individuals and institutions. Weingarten declines to say how much he has under management. According to the fund's Web site, it returned 17% in July, 26% in August and was up 9.7% for the first two weeks of September. http://www.thestreet.com/story/10380922/astrology-fund-sees-a-selloff-in-the-stars.html But these two are unrelated...there's NOOO way this can work
You Fib knockers are taking these golden ratios way too seriously.. Trading Fibs = Trading retracements..no more no less..Is that such an outlandish concept? Agreed,if anyone claims there ar magical numbers to trade, they are selling you something you shouldnt be buying.. Bit if I am looking to buy at a 37% retracement, and the 50% retracement level is with x ATR's,I would certainly consider scaling in at 37%..The important thing is discipline, money management and scaling in with the correct size at the first level. More to the point, run a backtest on Stochastics and do the opposite of what most people do.Look to buy when stochastic crosses BELOW 80 or 75...
*sigh* You're still missing it. If hundreds of thousands of people use it, that doesn't mean it isn't outside the realm of trading. "if everyone does it it must be right." No. If millions of people use tennis scores to trade, that doesn't mean tennis scores are related to trading. You still haven't read that fallacy page I linked you to, have you. Your cigarette analogy is a correlation. Smoking causes lung cancer. Totally unrelated to the logic behind our discussion of fibs. Having trading videos on youtube doesn't make some credible or profitable That doesn't piss me off. I don't care. If people want to invest money in an astrology fund, I really don't care at all because I wouldn't ever do that. You are right. But honestly, if astrology can explain emotions (which drive the stock market) then it may be useful. I'm not saying it is. Don't misquote me here. Anything that explains emotions can potentially be applied to trading. But there are two very important points here: 1) I have no idea if astrology explains emotions or not. 2) Fibs are a mathmatical ratio, NOT an explanation of human emotion. Now I must go eat lunch while I prepare to reply to your next post of fallacious arguments and misquoting what I say.
Feel free to invite anyone from that thread over here if they want to learn how to trade with fibs and not pay $149 per month for membership to that website
I never said it was right. I'm saying you cant ignore it. If there is a large enough sample of people who follow and believe something..it becomes right. example --> a "criminal" and a jury... wether the man commited a crime or not is NOT the point, but because the majority of jurors belived he did commit a crime, he joes to jail...is that right?... givin the large enough group of people who believe that, then it IS. It becomes right, and the fact that he did or did not do the crime becomes irrelevant. ---- Good enough. It makes me money. Go to this journal...these guys trade correlations. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=134253 ------------------ No. But having lots of followers and being in the trading game you years, and years sure as hell does. ---- and it does!. Popular legend has it that the full moon brings out the worst in people: more violence, more suicides, more accidents, more aggression. The influence of the moon and behavior has been called "The Lunar Effect" or "The Transylvania Effect." The belief that the full moon causes mental disorders and strange behavior was widespread throughout Europe in the middle ages. Even the word "lunacy" meaning "insanity" comes from the Latin word for "moon." You may hear people say, "Just ask an emergency room nurse or a police phone operator. They will tell you that they are busier on nights when there is a full moon." Is there scientific evidence to support these beliefs? Let's look at the data. read it --> http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/moon.html "Psychologist Arnold Lieber, from the University of Miami, dug deeper into this theory. The year was 1974 when he began conducting studies centered on the crime rates of Miami-Dade County in Florida. From the data gathered, he concluded that full moon has direct effect over the increase in homicide rates " ---> http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/612189/does_a_full_moon_influence_human_behavior.html how many times do i need to proove you wrong on your own thread?...and if you hate fibs sooooo much, why do you keep posting fib charts...and you failed to answer me if you really trade real money cuz i dont think you do imo. kon
