    Unfortunately....

    This is no hoax....

    .........................................................................

To say the least....structural changes are direly needed....
And have not yet been mentioned....

What has been mentioned will lead to more debt than the first 232 years of the US as a nation....
    ...........................................................................

Furthermore....there is a significant chance that the current tax structure revenues will basically collapse....

This will require a ¨consumption only tax¨ in order to establish a somewhat reliable source....

Also thë amount needed is more than the assumed sources will buy....
    ............................................................................

The story is about change alright....

  2. I wanna hear his plan to pay it off.

  3. "He that dies pays all debts”

  4. I don't think even Jesus can save you from the 8 years of Bush disaster. Serves you right. You got hell to pay, and it's not far away. Soon it'll be right at your doors. Burn baby burn.

  5. If you think this was all Bush's doing, first you give the guy way too much credit, and second this issue was a build up that took several decades to create and will probably will take many years to deal with.

Please, have the decency of illustrating yourself before opening your mind in writing on this topic. thanks.

it's going to back to basic economics.

taxes pay for gov't expenditures eventually. no amount of inflation will ever clear the debt.

debt is paid by taxes. period. debt is debt.

the money that is INVESTED by gov't must have returns that are greater than interest in the long run.

you'll need a larger population in the future to pay downthe debt. if population growth declines debt cannot be repaid.

  7. You should change the title of the thread to 'The Dumbya-Dumbass Years,' if you want to 'Fair & Balanced.'

the debt could be paid off in one generation if there was no war etc.

in the last 40 years, how much money has the gov't wasted on military spending.

at least a trillion dollars USD in the military.

the amount of money wasted on the iraq and afghanistan war is peanuts to any stimulus economic plan.

even the bailout plan of auto sector is peanuts.

and don't forget all wars are a result of economic issues.

More logical would be to get rid of Social Security and other welfare programs. The money we have and will spend on those make military spending look trivial.
