Itâs a Mitzvah Dana Milbank The Washington Post November 6, 2008 A mere 12 hours after claiming the Democratic presidential nomination, Barack Obama appeared before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee yesterday â and changed himself into an Israel hard-liner. He promised $30 billion in military assistance for Israel. He declared that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corpsâ Quds Force has ârightly been labeled a terrorist organization.â He used terms such as âfalse prophets of extremismâ and âcorruptâ while discussing Palestinians. And he promised that âJerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.â Vowing to stop Tehran from getting a nuclear weapon, the newly minted nominee apparent added: âI will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally, Israel. Do not be confused.â How could they be confused? As a pandering performance, it was the full Monty by a candidate who, during the primary, had positioned himself to Hillary Clintonâs left on matters such as Iran. Yesterday, Obama, who has generally declined to wear an American-flag lapel pin, wore a joint U.S.-Israeli pin, and even tried a Hebrew phrase on the crowd. Obama even outdid President Bush in his pro-Israel sentiments. On the very day that Obama vowed to protect Jerusalem as Israelâs capital â drawing a furious denunciation from the Palestinian Authority â Bush announced that he was suspending a move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. No âChangeâ In Israeli Manipulation Of U.S. Foreign Policy Under Obama Paul Joseph Watson PrisonPlanet.com Friday, November 7, 2008 President elect Barack Obamaâs first act of âchangeâ upon winning the Democratic presidential nomination back in June was to don a joint US-Israeli label pin, head on over to AIPAC and prostrate himself in front of the Israeli lobby, vowing to keep military action in mind for Iran and promising to hand over another $30 billion of American taxpayersâ money in military assistance to the Zionist state. Along with his recent appointment of Rahm Emanuel, the once Israeli army soldier who likes to make death threats to his political enemies while manically plunging a knife into a dinner table, Israel has little reason to worry that the man who promised âchangeâ will lift a finger to change Israeli manipulation of American foreign policy. Indeed, when Emanuelâs appointment was confirmed, top Israeli newspaper the Maariv Daily hailed the news with the headline, âOur man in the White House.â Another Israeli news outlet, Y Net, reports, âEmanuel is pro-Israeli, and would not be willing to consider accepting the job unless he was convinced that President-elect Obama is pro-Israel.â It seems that Obama has already answered the question of whether he can be a more hardcore Israel hard-liner than George W. Bush - âyes he canâ! Harking back to a Washington Post report about Obamaâs visit to AIPAC, we find that Obama âeven outdid President Bush in his pro-Israel sentiments,â garnering 13 standing ovations and even trying out a Hebrew phrase on the crowd. The Post said Obama âsounded as if he were Jewish,â as he told the crowd, âI had grown up without a sense of roots, I understood the Zionist idea, that there is always a homeland at the center of our story.â We also learn that Obama âoffered more military equipment and missile defense for Israel, vowed to âisolate Hamas,â and threatened to âdo everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Everything in my power. . . . Everything.â âThe danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat,â said Obama, âI will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally, Israel. Do not be confused.â If the first few days of Obamaâs preparations for the Oval Office, he has sent out a clear signal that if anything he will be more pro-Zionist than the Bush regime, firstly by his already established submissive fealty to AIPAC and secondly with his appointment of âThe Enforcerâ Rahm Emanuel as chief-of-staff, the son of a Zionist terrorist who helped the widely condemned Irgun group bomb hotels, marketplaces and carry out massacres in the 1940âs. Obama has already begun to deliver on the âchangeâ that he had promised all along. The Bush administration bent over backwards to accommodate Israel and acted on their desire to invade Iraq, yet stopped short of the fulfilling Israelâs demand to attack Iran. It seems Obama, with his âmilitary option on the tableâ rhetoric and his installment of a hardcore pro-Israel sympathizer in the White House, is pandering to an even greater extent.
When I mentioned the potential of Obama becoming a servent to the zionist agenda after nominating a hard core Zionist to the office of the chief of staff, I was accused of being anti Semitic...Even though I am a Semite myself! The Zionists have penetrated and their agenda will be executed.
I guess we now know how much "change" there wll be. Didn't take long for the dog to start smelling his master's ass did it? Don't expect ANY "change" to Bush's signing orders, FISA, Patriot Acts or any return to a Constitutional Republic.
