SouthAmerica: Tonight Lou Dobbs mentioned again on his TV program the subject of the "North American Union."

The only thing I don’t understand in this deal it is why Canada and Mexico would want to merge with the United States and become just one country?

I am thinking in economic terms.

It would be the same as if two reasonable healthy companies had decided that they want to merge with a company that is for all practical purposes completely financially bankrupted. (The United States has a pile of US government outstanding cumulative debt plus other outstanding liabilities that are stacking so far from Washington D.C. all the way to the moon.)

Lou Dobbs reported today on CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” the following:

    'North American Union'

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez are meeting with their Mexican and Canadian counterparts in Ottawa today. They are discussing the Security and Prosperity Partnership, which could lead to a "North American Union." All of this comes without the consent of Congress or voters. We'll have a special report.
