Some traders reporting today they bought Apple options this morning for $16 that ended up being worth $540 by end of the day. That's much bigger return than KODK. Specifically, AAPL 420 Calls expiring today were $0.10 to $0.20 in the morning, then exploded to $5.40 by eod. So you don't need to look only for the "next Kodak stock"
I bought the $410s for $1-$1.20, the $412.50 at $.30-.50s, $415s for $.20-$.40s and the $420s for pennies. The problem is Margin starts blanket selling after a certain time. Which brokerage allowed any size because Apple's final $12 jump was when Margin liquidates and IBKR locks you out of buying unless you have the BP.
Earnings, continued excitement about Apple in general, and late buyers/funds. Apple went up that morning after earnings but the market was down a little, so Apple still had some juice, then shot up when the market started recovering in the afternoon. (and maybe Apple played a role in the recovery)
