The next Jesse Livermore, Dimitri Balyasny and Dan Zanger: Atilla Demiray

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by Port1385, Dec 13, 2008.

  1. The 4 million isnt his money. His friend Sol was in a crash and had 350k in his account. The story goes is that he turned the 350k into 4 million through large bets on the ES and 4-sigma moves.

Im not certain how much Atilla has in his account...

Your post shows available funds of 4 million...So he has 4 million sitting in his brokerage account. Doesn't make sense.

  3. His friend Sol was hospitalized. Sol posted this screen picture of his account when he got back from the hospital. He let Atilla trade the account.

There are some parallels with Dan Zanger and Atilla Demiray. Both had blown accounts prior to their fortunes. Both use an overwhelming amount of leverage to achieve these goals. Both studied technical analysis and use simple trend lines and retracements.

Despite 6 figure losses both got back into the market.

That previous quote - it's so right. To me it's so true. As Livermore said: The big money is in the big swings. Getting that right is what really matters.

  5. I did some google searching and found a more detailed explanation on another forum:

"Atilla did trade an account from 300K to 4.5 Million. I think it was Sol's account (SOL is secondary poster on Xtrends under the moniker "admin")

He caught the entire downmove since the bailout bull**** till Oct 10th, switched long at the bottom on Oct 10th and caught 100 handles on the move back up. I can vouch for it since I followed his trade and made very good coin (doubled my account). You can verify by cross referencing his blog posts. Till that time he used to post every trade separately in a new blog posting. Nowadays, many of his real time trades are posted in the comments section which is a pain to wade through

Atilla is not the only one with the honor of converting 300K to 4.5 Mil. Another "Crash Calling" poster here at TF also shares the honors with him. However, the TF poster achieved his success over a longer time frame :)"

  7. This is his next trade. He has been short the ES and holding 3 ultrashort ETFs as his entire portfolio. He is looking for a 400 handle move. His prediction is 50 handles down on Monday alone. Look at the chart he is basing the move on currently.

  8. Thats a good question...what else could this be...when you right click on the charts on his site and save them, they come down as dccapital. Somehow this is linked to what he is doing...

  9. I'll chime in on behalf of Attilla. I've followed the guy pretty closely for at least 3 years now and he is one of the few guys you'll ever find who makes calls with complete conviction. Now, nobody knows the real story so far as account performance goes. I'll never trust an account statement unless I see it in person or it's been audited.

Having said that, this guy makes gutsy calls consistently and is on the right side of big moves more often than anyone I've come across in the blogosphere.

Not the nicest guy and a bit arrogant, but very talented to say the least.

  10. Along the lines of a "Bull Market Genius", we have here a Bear Market Genius. This guy will undoubtably think he can do no wrong and over-lever himself into account blowout #2.

You cannot make the returns he, supposedly, has made without having account-destroying risk. Just a matter of time. :-/
