This is more than a coincidence, every single liberal on T.V. is now attacking private equity saying "Their goal is to make money, not to create jobs."

This Has to be the stupidest fucking thing i have ever heard, is there anyone in the world who opens up a business with the single goal of creating jobs? Anyone who created a startup company with the sole intention of hiring workers would be broke within a week.....

The bottom line is that people start companies to make money, jobs are a byproduct of profit, people who run successful/profitable businesses, Inevitably create jobs, but that isnt the goal going into it. This liberal attack on Private equity only goes to further demonstrate the fact that most liberals really do not understand, nor do they like capitalism.

These liberal talking heads live in their own little fantasy government world, where the goal ACTUALLY seems to be to spend as much money as they can hiring as many people as possible....

  6. Yikes, all this talk of cold beer.

is there anyone in the world who opens up a business with the single goal of creating jobs?

I kid you not, I decided to work for myself for one reason - so I would have more time to drink beer.

Ultimately that idea of working for myself and plenty of drinking time turned into fubar. I kept getting busier and busier, working longer hours, bought more crap and eventually had to quit drinking, I didn't have the time.

Hmmm...... If your goal was to find more time for drinking beer, Wouldnt that mean firing yourself would technically a promotion? Ultimate Paradox

Not as a "single goal", no, but creating a job for someone is way, way up there in the personal value of the undertaking for very many of us.

While you didn't say it quite they way I think you mean it, they're saying private equity's only goal is to make money. Not principle goal among others, but only goal. If that's true (and I doubt all "all" statements, hehe) then I think they probably are scum. That they use legal means to do this changes almost nothing.

"The ways by which you may get money almost without exception lead downward. To have done anything by which you earned money merely is to have been truly idle or worse. If the laborer gets no more than the wages which his employer pays him, he is cheated, he cheats himself.

"The gold-digger in the ravines of the mountains is as much a gambler as his fellow in the saloons of San Francisco. What difference does it make whether you shake dirt or shake dice? If you win, society is the loser. The gold-digger is the enemy of the honest laborer, whatever checks and compensations there may be. It is not enough to tell me that you worked hard to get your gold. So does the Devil work hard. The way of transgressors may be hard in many respects. The humblest observer who goes to the mines sees and says that gold-digging is of the character of a lottery; the gold thus obtained is not the same thing with the wages of honest toil. "
