  1. You are only plundered if you choose to be. If you think you're being plundered or not, you're right. :D

  3. No, bonehead.

    That is meant to :

#1. Eliminate a culture of torts where lawsuits exist only to provide a means of wealth transfer to the legal class. Meaningful tort reform would ensure that the wronged party was fairly compensated - without a 33% haircut for a contingency fee, or a class action that nets millions for counsel but a 'coupon' for discounts on future services from a bankrupt service provider. Please. The goddess Justice has put down her scales, is peeking out of the bottom of her blindfold, and has a great big grin on her face while she smokes a blunt. The rule of law is rapidly becoming the tyrrany of the legal class, where morality is irrelevant and the only thing that matters is, 'is it legal?'.

#2. Eliminate crony capitalism where the corporations that have the greatest resources can purchase politicians.

Think back to your father's time. How many times a year did they consult someone in the legal profession. How many times a year do you?

Good post. The same statement is true of the insurance industry.

  5. Two very sensible posts to start a thread at ET. This is really something! Libertad's package is very important. But none of the presidential candidates, if President, will be implementing it because they are all conventional, without exception, and understand only the political circus in which they all perform.

  6. It would be in each party's best interest to purposely lose the coming election. The next president will inherit a heap of problems and will undoubtedly serve only 1 term.

  7. Westward

The U.S. is the most productive country in the world. I agree it is important to increase productivity.

The most important issue for the next president is to level the playing field and start to manage our trade imbalances..notably China. They are the devil and the general public of this country is too stupid to see it.

I would love to see China fall into a deep, deep recession. They're dependent on these outrageous growth rates just to keep people from tearing the leadership to shreds.

I don't think Vietnam is looking to build aircraft carriers like the antfarm across the pond.

  8. Think about that statement a little... once the chinese people start tearing the leadership to shreds, who will take over?

Might not be so good for us.

Do you begin to see why the egregious offenses of the chinese via their currency are tolerated?
