Smart move by Trader Technologies. For years they have been able to charge up to $1500pm for their software. Now there are so many free or low cost options out there if you dont need the more advanced features like autospreader. CTS T4 maxes out at $500pm and they have autospreader. IBs TWS can trade exchange spreads for free.

I believe this new TT comes in around $400pm, correct me if I am wrong. This price is a nice sweetspot as most will pony up that amount to get what is still the industries leading front end. I am pretty sure I will convert to TT at that price point.

I have pointed out before that if you are paying $1500pm for a front end and have a $100k account that is $18k or 18% you are down for the year right off the bat; that is a big headwind. I do understand though that TT is necessary for some strategies.

londonkid, pricing for the new ASP TT is not standard. Advantage is charging 1200.
I believe $400 max charge is a capped charge on their transactional pricing model. AMP and global futures are the only two brokers I know of which offer the transactional model.

thanks Gambit. I was under the impression that TT was going to be a substantial drop in price. That serves me right for being lazy and getting the facts. The transactional price model may be a fit for some of my swing trades, I will investigate, a capped charge of $400 would be great.

  7. The transactional price model is a great leap forward from TT if you dont do too many Rts. let me know if you hear of anyone else doing it other than AMP . Someone mentioned McQuarie in another conversation I had ?

Global Futures. Neither Amp nor Global Futures support exchange traded spreads.

  10. No someone I communicate with said they were on transactional TT through McQuarie and they are somone based in London. I will investigate. AMP have transactional model but I am having real problems getting agreement to access to LIFFE on it for FTSE/CAC/Gilt etc.
