The new TT platform... when, where ??

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by CALLumbus, Sep 18, 2015.

  1. The standard version is pretty much worthless....
    there's no programmability....is there ?
    No coding......correct ?

  2. TT Standard does not have access to user defined automated trading features like Autospreader and ADL. TT Standard does include algos that have been programmed by TT. These include the new TT OCO and TT Bracket order types. TTBracket.PNG

  3. Our questions below are mainly related to how does The TT Platform support “multi-broker” or “multi-FCM” feature?

    ASSUMPTIONS:

    1. Both FCM-1 and FCM-2 are listed in https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/platforms/tt-platform/.

    2. Both FCM-1 and FCM-2 are ready to support The TT Platform.

    3. We have some client accounts (owned by clients, not us) carried by FCM-1.

    4. We also have some other client accounts (owned by clients, not us) carried by FCM-2.

    5. We have POAs for all such client accounts carried by FCM-1 and FCM-2.

    6. Such POAs allow us to trade such accounts.

    QUESTIONS:

If we open a TT USER account directly with FCM-1, after FCM-1 LINK/SHARE the client accounts carried by FCM-1 with our TT USER account, we understand that we can trade such client accounts carried by such FCM-1.

    1. Can FCM-2 LINK/SHARE the client accounts carried by FCM-2 to our TT USER account even it was opened through FCM-1?

2.After they are LINKED/SHARED, can we use such TT USER account to trade such LINKED/SHARED accounts?

We never clearly know the answers to the above very basic question related to “multi-broker” or “multi-FCM” feature.

Does anyone know the answers or have any experiences?

    Thanks.

  4. It took me about 3 months trying to study "The TT Platform" and figure out how to use "The TT Platform" to accomplish the “multi-broker” or “multi-FCM” operations (see above).
After 3 month, I still go no where............
    It is extremely frustrated........................

  5. I do believe "The TT Platform" will be the best product in trading. I do like the new architecture (SaaS cloud platform, co-location and multi-broker) of “The TT Platform” a lot. I am really happy to see TT heading to this direction. I believe this new platform will help the futures industry significantly. That was the reason I was trying to figure out a way to use "The TT Platform". After I explained my questions further, the sale manager in TT did answer my questions. Thanks very much for helps from TT.

    Hi @etvisitor

Full disclosure, I'm the CEO at TT. I saw your questions and figured now's as good a time as any to make my first ET post.

Sorry it took so long for you to get answers -- believe it or not, we're trying hard to simplify this process. Let me try to clarify some of this for you and other readers, and if you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

First, you always "create your TT user account" with us, TT. Don't confuse that with trading accounts. Your user account will stay with you for as long as you're a TT customer, even if you change FCMs, take a year-long hiatus, whatever.

To actually trade, you'll need access to a trading account, which generally are owned by the FCMs. It's very simple for one or more FCMs to share a trading account with you -- they can share one with literally just a couple clicks, and you'll immediately have access to trade on that account. In your scenario, FCM1 and FCM2 don't need to know about each other because they would both be sharing the respective trading accounts with your user or firm. The list of participating FCMs is on our website and is growing.

From a pricing perspective, you have options there as well. You can either have the FCM(s) sponsor you (in which case you only pay for market data fees where applicable, and we bill the FCMs for your trading activity), or you can pay your bill to TT directly, regardless of whether you choose subscription or transactional pricing. Of course, if you prefer the transactional billing model and you're trading on accounts from multiple FCMs, it is likely in your best interest to pay TT for the software directly, because then you have just the single transactional cap.

The short answer to your question is: yes, we support the scenario you describe and in fact it's very easy to setup. Hopefully that helps.

  7. @Rick_TT This new TT platform does not have all the same features and is more expensive than XTrader? ADL is not even out of beta?

    Why would i switch?

Is there an ETA on new TT being par with XTrader? Am i going to be able to continue to use XTrader? If so, how long?

    Hi @surf'n trade,

The pricing for both TT and X_TRADER is available on our website:

    https://www.tradingtechnologies.com/platforms/pricing/

I'm curious why you think TT is more expensive than X_TRADER?

And yes, ADL is still technically in beta, however we anticipate removing the beta tag very soon. In the meantime, all TT Pro users have received a "beta" discount (even if they don't use ADL).

Today you'd switch if the dramatic performance improvements in Autospreader (or algo/ADL) were meaningful to the way you trade, or if you would benefit from the added convenience of being able to access your trading workspaces from anywhere on nearly any device, without a software install, and without an investment in infrastructure.

Maybe speed in the traditional sense doesn't matter to you, but you hate waiting months to get access to a new feature or market we've released because of the heavy lift your FCM or bank must undergo to upgrade or install new software. With TT, when we add a new market or a new feature, everyone has access to it, globally.

Or perhaps you'd switch because of the entirely new risk management platform on which TT sits, which not only gives you the freedom to manage your own position and P&L limits within the account-based limits that your FCM configures, but also introduces several new features, such as Position Transfer and auto-liquidation, which are only available on the TT platform.

It is, of course, a very personal decision, and we'd love to find out what your specific needs are to see where the gaps lie.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "being par." While TT will have all of the capabilities of X_TRADER, we may not build every feature like-for-like. Indeed, there are still some aspects of X_TRADER missing from TT that we intend to build, however there are enough users who are already benefitting from the new platform, that rather than simply rebuilding X_TRADER, we're iterating on the platform based on their feedback. Much like the early days of X_TRADER, I suspect the platform will continue to evolve and be shaped by early users. The big difference now, though, is our ability to deliver solutions and enhancements in a fraction of the time it used to take.

If there are aspects of X_TRADER on which you rely that you feel are missing in TT, I'd be happy to give you more information on when these might be available.

We have no immediate plans to stop supporting X_TRADER. That said, there will come a time when the TT platform exceeds all of the capabilities of X_TRADER (even if the features aren't called the same or look the same), at which point we'll look to convert any remaining users. But we won't do that until we can equip them with a tool superior to X_TRADER.

  10. Thank you for your full detailed response. However, I still have some questions.

    >The pricing on the TT's website is for new customers? The price being charged for Xtrader is much less that what is being listed on your website.

    >Nice. once out of beta it will be par with XTrader ADL?

    >I am looking forward to the ADL sharing.

Entirely new risk management platform on which TT sits, which not only gives you the freedom to manage your own position and P&L limits

    >Where can i find more details about this? So i can set a daily loss limit that will automatically close out my positions if for example, $1'000 loss is reached?

It is, of course, a very personal decision, and we'd love to find out what your specific needs are to see where the gaps lie.

    >My biggest fear is being pushed to this new TT before it is ready. I thought i was going to have to look for another platform. The fact that you said i will be able to continue to use Xtrader until new TT is ready is cool. I AM NOW RELAXED. I absolutely looking forward to being able to us my phone to check my trades when I am done surfing in Manhattan Beach.
