  1. Biggest disappointment of the playoffs? Dallas or Indy?

Bigger home field advantage? GB or NE?

  3. Indy was bigger disappointment. Dallas had started to lose momentum towards the end of the season, while Indy was still on a roll, were getting healthier, and were expected to be the team to at least give N.E. a game.

The weather in NE and GB can both be very bad, however GB is playing another relatively cold weather team (NY) whereas NE is playing a team that gets to wear sunglasses over Xmas dinner (SD). Edge has to go to NE if weather related, but to GB for fan support. NE fans get awfully quiet at Gillette Stadium when things aren't going their way.
PS. Temp in NE on Sunday is expected to be in single digits.

  4. I've never seen Indy's defense play so poorly, it was surreal

The offense was firing on all cylinders, that first drive to a TD was a thang of beauty  ; right there and then i said Indy will blow Chargers out of water today. But as tim,e passed and their defense unraveled more and more with time.. i was in shock  F#CK!

well, it's all up to GB and Farve to make Brady & co humble once again :D

  5. Sunday
    Chance Of Snow
    Hi: 20°
POP: 30% Partly sunny. A chance of snow in the morning. Brisk and much colder. Near steady temperature around 20. Chance of snow 30 percent.

    Sunday Night
    Mostly Clear
    Lo: 8°
Mostly clear and brisk. Cold. Lows 5 to 10 above. Highs in the lower 20s.

3PM start. SD = popsicles by suppper time.

Take Pats -14.5 and whatever the over is. I don't see SD doing better than 14, maybe 17, or NE doing less than 30. Last game was 38-14 in September.

    bronks

    Nice.

This, and NE's season, is proof for any non-chalant (hope I spelled that right) fan that the offensive line is THE most important position in football.

I still like SD's chances if Rivers (puke) and Lt are able to go.

  7. Couple of interesdting games this weekend. GB/Giants should be a classic rematch of their battles for league supremacy in the early 60's. Back then the Giants were the Patriots of the league and the Packers were the upstarts. Lombardi turned it all upside down however. Pats/SD is a real mystery to me. SD can play smashmouth, which might be an advantage in the bad weather, but Brady made his rep in a snowstorm. Remeber the infamous fumble that wasn't against the Raiders because of the tuck rule?

I think the spreads are like last weekend, too big. Giants 7 dogs after beating Dallas in Dallas? Come on, that should be maybe 4 1/2 tops. Pats 13 1/2 faves? Against a team that pretty much had its way against Indy? Are the Pats that much better than Indy?

Last weekend, taking the dogs was the way to go, but I find that hard to do. I'm going with GB and NE again, recognizing that these could be tough covers, so understand these picks are for fun only. Don't throw them in my face later, please.

I think GB will be able to run the ball on the Giants. The Giants are big up front and can rush the passer, but I think they can be vulnerable on the edge. Also, Favre can unload it in a hurry. The Giants offense looked pretty good against the Cowboys, but GB is faster and better in the secondary. Could be a long day for Eli, but he's sure fooled me thus far in the playoffs.

Sd has injury problems. Even if LT, Rivers and Gates play, they are far from healthy. SD's defense is one of the better units in the league, but are they better than Jacksonville? I don't think so. The Pats have so many weapons, they are going to put the ball in the endzone against any defense. It's a lot of points to cover, but they should be able to do it against a hobbled Chargers team.

  8. Well, I said the spreads were too big. Who expected Brady to throw 3 INTs? Not me, especially in the red zone. Apparently he had 62 consecutive TD passes without a red zone INT. But then, who expect Wes Welker to drop that pass inside the Jags 10 last week? Would SD have been better with Volker at QB instead of the injured Rivers? Very possibly, but when an injured star player steps up, it's hard to sit him. The story of this game is simple. SD couldn't put it in the endzone. FGs don't beat the Pats.

I thought GB would be able to run the ball on the Giants. They couldn't, or at least they didn't. I thought the Packers corners would be able to cover the Giants' wideouts. They couldn't, or at least they didn't. I didn't think the Packers would be flat the entire game playing at home for the NFC championship. They were. Tom Coughlin and his staff can feel pretty good about themselves, as they clearly outcoached their Packer counterparts. The Packers should have changed their D in the second half. Instead, they let Burress beat them. They should have made more of an effort to run the ball. Instead, Favre threw horrible INTs.

You have to give a lot of credit to the Giants, who won three road games en route to the championship. Now they get the Patriots again, a team they came as close as anybody to defeating the last week of the regular season. The Pats seem to me to be playing worse every week. Maybe a long season is begging to wear down their vets.

  10. You've gotta be freakin kidding me!!!!!

Yesterday's NFC championship might as well have been the Super Bowl, because it was a much better game than the NY/NE game is gonna be.
