The National Football League-that was the week that was

  1. If the NFL is truly predictable as you say, then turn that predictability into cash and head to Vegas.

Of course, since it is not predictable at all, your comments are nonsense. If you don't like watching it, then don't! It's really that simple. No one is forcing you to watch it there guy. You are making a decision to watch it.

  2. Why do you think I live in Nevada?

BTW: your corner E. Wright is gonna be an All Pro very soon. Your QB..not so much.

  3. Well then, share the love. Post your picks here so we can see how predictable the NFL is every weekend.

Which QB you talking about? Anderson has some nice moments under pressure and we all know that Quinn is the 2nd coming of Kosar, so what's the problem?

    :D

  4. Anderson has been a statue since at Rodent State.

Quinn as Koser? Yeah maybe...tall loser who can't win the big one. He'll need about 21 other Clay Mathews's to cover his arse.

  5. Cincy may have the worst defense in the history of the NFL.

  6. I would have to agree! And thankfully the Browns took advantage of that.

  10. Thanks ElCubano. Philly at home has always been a tough test for the Redskins.

If it had been 35 degrees with rain and a little sleet, last night would have been a perfect Redskins-Eagles punchout. Hard hitting, plenty of injuries, sputtering offenses, booing Philly fans and a nailbiter down to the last minute when Redskins rookie safety LaRon Landry separated an Eagles receiver from the ball to kill the Eagles chances of tying the game.

The key to this game was obvious. The Eagles had to settle for four FGs, even when they had good field position on a turnover deep in the Redskins end. They put plenty of decent drives together but couldn't get it in the endzone. Put it down to a combination of McNabb not looking real sharp, an improved Redskins defense and less than dominant Philly receivers. There were a lot of receivers in motion in the offseason. It looks like the Eagles should have grabbed a couple.

The Redskins offense isn't reminding anyone of the Colts, but it did just enough to win. After a first down at the Eagles two with time running out in the first half, they managed to string together a delay penalty, two motion penalties on former tackle Jason Fabini filling in for injured starter Randy Thomas, a field goal try that they thought better of after Andy Reid called a timeout, then an amazing Campbell to Cooley TD pass that really took the air out of the Eagles sails. As Kornheiser remarked, he left the booth at the 2 minute warning and 40 minutes later, he and Wilbon finally went on.

The Eagles looked flat and demoralized in the second half but McNabb rallied them, only to fall short. They narrowly missed a dagger when speedy Redskins wideout Santana Moss got behind the depleted Eagles secondary late in the game only to see Campbell somehow overthrow him by a good ten yards. Still, it was fitting that this game was trademarked by hard hits from Sean Taylor and Landry, not by a long pass.
