And I return to the thread with my tail between my legs... What the hell was that Anderson?!?!? 4 In'ts??? Are you kidding me. This is why I do not bet sports. One game like this and you are quickly reminded that it is not an easy gig making sports bets.
What can I say Pek? 4 Int's and that was it. Cinci's offense didn't do sh*t against our D, but when your QB gives away the game, we couldn't dig out of that hole. I guess it's a good thing that I don't make my living by placing sports bets!
The Redskins QB situation has been the talk of every Christmas gathering I've been to. I kind of feel sorry for Coach Gibbs. He handpicked Campbell, who is a classic Gibbs QB, big strong-armed guy. But he is very slow with his delivery and defensive linemen have taken to knocking the ball out of his hand while he's in his long windup. He may be perfect for Gibbs offensive system, but he has been a work in progress for offensive coordinator Al Saunder's system. Apparently Saunder's system is predicated on hitting the receiver in stride as they make their cuts, so timing and accuracy are paramount. In KC, with Trent Green at the helm, it was devastating, as it was in St. Louis as the Greatest Show on Turf. There was some thought last year that the Skins O line was not suited to it and was far better at traditional Redskins smashmouth football. Departure of left G Derrick Dockery to the Bills in the offseason and injuries to the right side of the line put that talk on the backburner, as the backups were not bullying anyone. Now after four tough losses, the Redskins are on a three game winning streak, all orchestrated by career backup Todd Collins after Campbell went down in the Bears game. Collins in many ways has been the league's feel-good story of the year. He spent ten years between starts, dutifully preparing every week in a highly professional manner, only to sit on the bench. Finally, against the Bears, with the Skin's season hanging in the balance, he got the call and won offensive player of the week honors. The Skins can get in the playoffs with a win against the Cowboys Sunday or if the Vikings and NO both lose. If Collins leads the team to the playoffs, Coach Gibbs will face a huge QB controversy next year. A lot of people, myself included, think it is obvious the team would be challenging Dallas and GB for the conference's best record if Collins had been the starter all year. Certainly no one thought that at the beginning of the year, and you can't blame every loss on Campbell, but it is clear the offense functions better with Collins running things. The players know it, the fans know it and the coaches know it, although they may be loath to admit it.
LOLOL.. all this heady analysis no better than a coin toss here's your Super Bowl XLII Q-back http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/KBQB_blog/manning.jpg psst.. it's the bigger guy on the right..(not the pasty face ) ps bellichump should teach brady how to shake a hand like a man
Well.... so close.... Almost worse than having a terrible season. Hopefully this gives the Browns something to build on for next year. Hopefully.... Signed, Sad Brownsfan019
Good luck AS b/c your stoolers are going to need it. There is no way they get thru the AFC playoffs. (we'll see how good this prediction is...)
