  5. Game was the big decider for me. Pretty sure now Indy can't win in NE this winter.

  6. After the first half, I really thought the Pats were done. Indy offense was doing exactly the same thing they had done back in January, wearing the Pats down and controlling the clock. The Pats defense was missing tackles all over the place, while the Indy defense (which really impressed me) was hitting hard and giving Brady little time to throw. It was a great test for the Pats to see how they would respond with their backs against the wall for the first time this season.

Did anyone else notice that stupid little shuffle step Addai did to go out of bounds in the first half, when he had a clear path to the end zone. The commentators didn't pick up on it, but one of his own players was screaming at him. I really don't understand why he did it, as there was easily enough room for him to regain his balance and stay in bounds.

  7. And did anyone happen to catch the best game on Sunday?

Browns in OT beat the Seahawks.

    :D

Nice come from behind win at home.

Anderson keeps producing. This guy convinces more and more people every week that he's an NFL starter. I'm now seeing spots on ESPN jumping on this bandwagon. Hold on folks, the AFC North could get interesting this year.

  8. Congrats on a great come from behind win. I didn't see the game but I saw that Seattle was up something like 21-3 in the first half. As I said in last week's report, I don't want to bet against a hot team like the Browns.

  9. My personal definition of mixed feelings: you give 3 1/2 on the Redskins and they line up in OT to kick a game winning field goal.

What a frustrating game. The outside cover guy on the opening kickoff gives up the edge and the Jets returner takes it to the house. So a 3 1/2 spread has become effectively 10 1/2 against one of the most plodding offenses in the league. I knew a long day was in store for me. Then the Skins defense twice commits stupid personal foul late hits on the Jets QB, extending their drives and ending up costing points.

The Skins caught a huge break late in the game when the refs ruled for them on a catch and fumble by the Jets in their own territory, leading to the Skins only TD. Honestly, it looked like an incompletion to me. If I'm a Jets fan, I really feel hosed.

  10. Let's take a quick look over my picks. My initial take was to go with the Redskins and give the 3 1/2 but I changed my mind and said avoid it. Lucky thing. Actually, I forgot about that and wrote the above post thinking I had picked the game, so I gave my self a lot of aggro yesterday for nothing.

Anyway, I did say take GB, the Lions and Cowboys and they all covered, so I was 3-0 this week. It took a late surge by GB, so I was lucky there. The Lions blew out Denver. Can they be 6-2? And they were totally blown out and dominated by the Redskins? The Cowboys gave the Iggles a good shellacking, plus the Iggles fans got a special treat by seeing TO shred their defense. I've always despised the Eagles from the days of Chuck Bednarik, but you have to feel for Andy Reid. For my money, he is one of the class guys in the league. If Philly has any sense, and they do because other than NE they are one of the best run franchises in the league, they will give him whatever time and space he needs to weather this horrible personal crisis.

Looking over the games, I realized I made a huge mistake not taking the Titans at home against Carolina, which had no healthy QBs. Actually, I am surprised that game didn't go off the board. Sometimes, the obvious play is the correct one.

I also liked TB, NO and my favorite darkhorse team, the Bills, but I found one reason or another to avoid those games.

Tonight brings an interesting matchup with two of the classic smashmouth teams in the league, the Steelers and Ravens.
